Chemicals used for treatment of swimming pool water - Chlorine

This European Standard is applicable to chlorine used for the treatment of swimming pool water. It describes the characteristics of chlorine and specifies the requirements and the corresponding test methods for chlorine. It provides information on its use in swimming pool water treatment and determines the rules relating to safe handling and use of chlorine (see Annex B).

La présente Norme européenne s’applique au chlore utilisé pour le traitement de l’eau des piscines. Elle décrit les caractéristiques du chlore et spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d’essai correspondantes. Elle donne des informations sur son emploi dans le traitement de l’eau des piscines et détermine les règles relatives à la manipulation et à l’utilisation en toute sécurité du chlore (voir l’Annexe B).

Overview

EN 15363:2014 (CEN) is the European standard that specifies requirements for chlorine used in the treatment of swimming pool water. It defines product identity, physical and chemical characteristics, purity criteria, test methods and labelling, and it provides guidance on safe handling and use (see Annex B). The standard applies to liquid (liquefied gas) chlorine supplied for pool disinfection and complements regulatory controls on biocides and transport.
