This European Standard specifies two test methods for determining the water permeability characteristics of a single layer of geotextile or geotextile-related product normal to the plane: the constant head method and the falling head method. Note: If the full permeability characteristics of the geotextile or geotextile-related product have previously been established, then for control purposes it can be sufficient to determine the velocity index at a head loss of 50 mm only.

Diese Europäische Norm legt zwei Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der der Wasserdurchlässigkeit eines einlagigen Geotextils oder geotextilverwandten Produktes normal zu seiner Ebene fest: das Verfahren mit konstanter Druckhöhe und das Verfahren mit fallender Druckhöhe. Anmerkung: Wenn der volle Umfang der charakteristischen Wasserdurchlässigkeit eines Geotextils oder geotextilverwandten Produktes schon einmal ermittelt worden ist, kann es für Kontrollzwecke genügen nur noch den Geschwindigkeitsindex bei einem hydraulischen Höhenunterschied von 50 mm zu.

La présente norme européenne spécifie deux méthodes d'essai pour déterminer la perméabilité a l'eau d'un géotextile ou produit apparenté monocouche normalement a son plan: la méthode a hauteur de charge constante et la méthode a hauteur de charge décroissante. Note: Si la totalité des caractéristiques de perméabilité du géotextile ou du produit apparenté a déja été établie, la détermination de l'indice de vitesse a une hauteur de charge de 50 mm uniquement peut suffire a des fins de contrôle.
