This Part of this European Standard specifies the characteristics of stainless steel wire for the manufacture of ropes that are exposed to corrosion and in some cases to a moderate temperature.
This part of this European standard specifies the following for stainless steel wire for ropes
- dimensional tolerances;
- mechanical characteristics;
- requirements relating to the chemical composition of the stainless steel wire;
- conditions to be satisfied by any coating.

La présente partie de la présente norme européenne définit les fils écrouis en acier inoxydables par tréfilage, pour la confection de câbles qui sont exposés a la corrosion et dans certains cas a une température modérée. La présente partie de la présente norme spécifie pour les fils tréfilés en acier inoxydable pour câbles: - les tolérances dimensionnelles; - les caractéristiques mécaniques; - les exigences concernant la composition chimique des fils en acier inoxydables; - les conditions auxquelles le revetement éventuel doit satisfaire.
