High-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 203: Gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear for rated voltages above 52 kV (IEC 62271-203:2011)

IEC 62271-203:2011 specifies requirements for gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear in which the insulation is obtained, at least partly, by an insulating gas other than air at atmospheric pressure, for alternating current of rated voltages above 52 kV, for indoor and outdoor installation, and for service frequencies up to and including 60 Hz. This second edition of IEC 62271-203 cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 62271-203, published in 2003, and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:   - adopting the structure and the content to IEC 62271-1,   - harmonisation with IEEE C37.122,   - addition of the new Annex F and the new Annex G.   This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 62271-1:2007.

La CEI 62271-203:2011 spécifie les exigences pour l'appareillage sous enveloppe métallique à isolation gazeuse dont l'isolation est réalisée, au moins partiellement, par un gaz isolant autre que l'air à la pression atmosphérique, pour courant alternatif de tensions assignées supérieures à 52 kV, pour l'installation à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur, et pour des fréquences de service inférieures ou égales à 60 Hz. Cette deuxième édition de la CEI 62271-203 annule et remplace la première édition de la CEI 62271-203 publiée en 2003, et constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente:  - adoption de la structure et du contenu de la CEI 62271-1,   - harmonisation avec l'IEEE C37.122,   - ajout de la nouvelle Annexe F et de la nouvelle Annexe G.   Cette publication doit être lue conjointement avec la CEI 62271-1:2007.

Ta del standarda IEC 62271 določa zahteve za plinsko izolirane stikalne naprave v kovinskih ohišjih, ki so vsaj delno izolirane z izolirnim plinom, drugačnim od zraka pri atmosferskem tlaku, za izmenični tok naznačenih napetosti nad 52 kV za notranjo ali zunanjo namestitev in za frekvence delovanja do vključno 60 Hz. Za namene tega standarda se za »plinsko izolirane stikalne naprave v kovinskih ohišjih« uporabljajta izraza »plinsko izolirane stikalne naprave (GIS)« in »stikalne naprave«. Plinsko izolirane stikalne naprave v kovinskih ohišjih, zajete v tem standardu, so sestavljene iz posameznih komponent, ki se neposredno medsebojno povežejo in lahko delujejo le na ta način. Ta standard po potrebi dopolnjuje in spreminja različne ustrezne standarde, ki veljajo za posamezne komponente plinsko izoliranih stikalnih naprav.

voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies", of IEC TC 17, "Switchgear and controlgear" was
submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as EN 62271-203:2012.

The following dates are fixed:

EN 62271-203:2012 should be read in conjunction with EN 62271-1:2008, to which it refers and which is
applicable unless otherwise specified. In order to simplify the indication of corresponding requirements,
the same numbering of clauses and subclauses is used as in EN 62271-1. Amendments to these clauses
and subclauses are given under the same numbering, whilst additional subclauses, are numbered from
101.

A-deviations
A-deviation: National deviation due to regulations, the alteration of which is for the time being outside the
competence of the CENELEC member.
This European Standard does not fall under any Directive of the EU.
In the relevant CEN-CENELEC countries these A-deviations are valid instead of the provisions of the
European Standard until they have been removed.

5.103.2 Italy (Italian pressure vessel code for electrical switchgear DM 1 December 1980 and DM
10 September 1981 published in Gazzetta Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana n° 285 dated
16.10.1981)
For metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear containing gas-filled compartments, the
design pressure is limited to a maximum of 0,5 bar (gauge) and the volume is limited to a
3
maximum of 2 m . Gas filled compartments having a design pressure exceeding 0,5 bar
(gauge) or a volume exceeding 2 m3 shall be designed according to the Italian pressure
vessel code for electrical switchgear.
