This amendment A12 modifies the European Standard EN 60335-2-8:2015; it was approved by CENELEC on 2021-03-01. CENELEC
members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the
status of a national standard without any alteration.
Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on application to the CEN-CENELEC
Management Centre or to any CENELEC member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the
responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the same status as
the official versions.

Rational Issue manager:
This concerns the endorsement of A2 to IEC 60335-2-8:2012 (ed.6) and IEC 60335-2-8:2012/A1:2015.

A2 is based on IEC 60335-1:2010 including A1 and A2.

Concerning A1 and A2 alterations of IEC part 1:

7.10 Delete the replacement “Devices, except for those on animal shearers, used to start/stop operational functions
of the appliance, if any, shall be distinguished from other manual devices by means of shape, or size, or surface texture,
or position, etc.”

And move its content to 22.55.

22.12 Delete the addition to Note Z1: This is not applicable to animal shearers.


Concerning the A2 alterations of IEC:

3.105 Addition of definition for washable clipper. No need for CM.
