ISO/TC 72/SC 4 - Dyeing and finishing machinery and graphical symbols for textile machinery

Defines 8 critical widths to enable the specification, without ambiguity, of these essential dimensions, particularly in orders, and specifies the range of nominal width, i.e. the width of the machine elements, which house the textile fabric during a treatment process.

The parts covered are those which operate under dry or wet conditions or in steam, and which either come into contact with the fabric or are positioned within 100 mm of the fabric.

Lays down a range of nominal values of external and spindle diameters, and gives information on the working performance requirements for steel guide rollers used with dyeing and finishing machinery. An example for the designation of a guide roller specified is included.

Defines the left and right sides of dyeing and finishing machines so that the positioning of the various parts may be described without ambiguity, in particular when ordering. Applicable to individual machines in which the textile material follows a predetermined path, but not applicable to assemblies of machines in plants. - Replaces the first edition (ISO 1036-1976) and constitutes its technical revision.

ISO 11659-2:2004 specifies tests for determining the impact of processing oils on textile machine parts made of polymeric materials. In view of the multitude of processing oils and polymeric materials, it addresses a selection of those substances and materials. However, testing of products not mentioned is also possible. It is applicable to textile processing oils used on fibres, yarns and the filaments prepared for their processing, and to polymeric materials in the thermoplastics, duroplastics, elastomers and thermoplastic elastomers groups.

ISO 11659-3:2004 specifies tests for determining the impact of processing oils on textile machine parts made with lacquers. In view of the multitude of processing oils and lacquer systems, it addresses a selection of those substances and materials. However, testing of products not mentioned is also possible. It is applicable to textile processing oils used on fibres, yarns and the filaments prepared for their processing, and to lacquer systems applied to machine parts or test plates, including the necessary pre-treatment.

ISO 10457:2002 specifies nominal speeds for dyeing and finishing machines, with the aim of simplifying the choice of the drive units and facilitating the combination of individual machines in a production plant.

Describes a method for the determination of the anticorrosive effect of textile processing oils upon steel.

Specifies the dimensions of the square section of bars of types A and B.

Specifies the following nominal speeds in order to simplify the choice of the drive units and to facilitate the combination of individual machines in a production plant. Speeds in metres per minute: 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250.

These construction and safety rules do not apply to the following centrifuges, which are expressively excluded from the field of application of this International Standard: centrifuges in which the kinetic energy of the loaded rotor is less than 750 J; centrifuges considered to be electric motor-driven domestic machines; centrifuges with a circumferential speed greater than 300 m/s; centrifuges used exclusively for processing of atomic energy products.
