Cancels and replaces the second edition (1979). Specifies the maximum chamfer dimensions of metric series rolling bearings, for which boundary dimensions, including chamfer minimum dimensions, are given in other International Standards. Gives also requirements for the maximum dimensions of the corresponding shaft and housing filet radii. Does not apply to chamfers, for which dimensions are not specified, or for which other dimensions are specified in other International Standards.

ISO 199:2005 specifies tolerances for boundary dimensions (except chamfer dimensions) and for the running accuracy of thrust rolling bearings with flat back faces as specified in ISO 104. It is not applicable to certain thrust bearings, e.g. thrust needle roller bearings, or for particular fields of application, e.g. thrust special precision bearings. Chamfer dimension limits are given in ISO 582.

ISO 15242-2:2004 specifies vibration measuring methods for radial single-row and double-row ball bearings, with a contact angle up to and including 45 degrees, under established test conditions. It covers radial ball bearings with cylindrical bore and outside surface, except bearings with filling slots and three- and four-point contact bearings.

Establishes guidelines for measurement of dimensions, running accuracy and internal clearance of both radial and thrust rolling bearings. The purpose is to outline the fundamentals of various measuring and gauging principles which may be used in order to comply with the definitions of ISO 1132 and ISO 5593. The methods described in this Technical Report do differ amongst themselves and there are other adequate measuring and gauging methods. ISO/TR 9274 does not imply any obligation to apply any particular method. However, the methods specified may be referred to in cases of dispute.
