Dense shaped refractory products - Part 11: Determination of resistance to thermal shock

This Technical Specification specifies two alternative methods for determining the resistance to thermal shock of dense shaped refractory materials by the air quenching method which proved to give the most reliable results as compared with the behaviour of the refractories placed in furnace linings. Method B can be applied to unshaped refractory materials too.

Diese Technische Spezifikation legt zwei alternative Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Temperaturwechsel-beständigkeit von dichten geformten feuerfesten Erzeugnissen durch Abschrecken an Luft fest, für die nach-gewiesen wurde, dass sie, verglichen mit dem Verhalten von feuerfesten Erzeugnissen in Ofenauskleidungen, die zuverlässigsten Ergebnisse liefern. Verfahren B ist auch auf ungeformte feuerfeste Werkstoffe anwendbar.

Méthodes d'essai des produits réfractaires façonnés denses - Partie 11: Détermination de la résistance au choc thermique

La présente Spécification technique européenne définit une méthode de détermination de la résistance aux chocs thermiques des produits réfractaires façonnés denses par la méthode de trempe à l'air ; il a été prouvé que, par comparaison avec le comportement des réfractaires placés dans les revêtements de fours, cette méthode donnait les résultats les plus fiables.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 23 January 2003 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available. It
is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible
conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
