Textiles - Multifilament yarns - Methods of test for textured or non-textured filament yarns
This European Standard specifies test methods for quality control of textured and non textured multifilament synthetic yarns. It includes the following test methods:
- determination of the crimp contraction - textured multifilament yarn with linear density up to 500 dtex;
- determination of the hot air shrinkage - for non textured and textured multifilament yarns;
- determination of the boiling water shrinkage - for non textured and textured multifilament yarns.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfverfahren zur Qualitätskontrolle von synthetischen texturierten und nicht
texturierten Multifilamentgarnen fest. Die folgenden Prüfverfahren sind enthalten:
-Bestimmung der Kräuselkontraktion - texturierte Multifilamentgarne mit einer Feinheit bis 500 dtex;
-Bestimmung des Heißluftschrumpfes - bei nicht texturierten und texturierten Multifilamentgarnen;
-Bestimmung des Kochschrrumpfes - bei nicht texturierten und texturierten Multifilamentgarnen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie des méthodes d’essai destinées au contrôle de la qualité de multifilaments synthétiques texturés et non texturés. Elle présente les méthodes d’essai suivantes :
détermination de la contraction de frisure multifilaments texturés d’une masse linéique inférieure ou égale à 500 dtex ;
détermination du retrait à l’air chaud pour des multifilaments texturés et non texturés ;
détermination du retrait à l’eau bouillante pour des multifilaments texturés et non texturés.

This European Standard (EN 14621:2005) has been prepared by the Technical Committee CEN /TC 248
"Textiles and Textile Products", the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2006.
