Wood preservatives - Determination of the protective effectiveness against marine borers

This European Standard specifies a marine test method for the determination of the relative effectiveness of wood preservatives applied by vacuum/pressure impregantion or other processes giving complete penetration in order to prevent attac of timber in sea-water by marine wood-boring organisms. The protective effect is assessed in realtion to that of a reference preservative applied by a standard treatment.

Holzschutzmittel - Bestimmung der Schutzwirkung gegenüber marinen Organismen

Diese europäische Norm beschreibt ein marines Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der relativen Wirksamkeit von Holzschutzmitteln, die durch Vakuum-/Durchtränkung oder andere Volltränkverfahren in das Holz eingebracht werden, gegen marine Holzzerstörer im Meerwasser. Die Schutzwirkung wird im Vergleich zu der eines Referenzschutzmittels bestimmt, das mittels eines genormten Verfahrens eingebracht wurde. Es ist wichtig zu beachten, dass die Korrelation zwischen den Ergebnissen dieser marinen Prüfungen und denen der praktischen Anwendung für unterschiedliche Holzschutzmittel verschieden sein k.

Produits de préservation du bois - Détermination de l'efficacité protectrice vis-à-vis des organismes térébrants marins

La présente Norme Européenne prescrit une méthode d'essai en milieu marin pour déterminer l'efficacité relative d'un produit de préservation appliqué par imprégnation sous vide et pression ou par d'autres procédés assurant une pénétration complète, afin d'éviter l'attaque du bois en contact avec l'eau de mer par les ténébrants marins.  L'effet protecteur est évalué par rapport à l'effet d'un produit de préservation de référence appliqué selon un traitement lui-même normalisé.
