ISO 11666:2010 specifies ultrasonic acceptance levels 2 and 3 for full penetration welded joints in ferritic steels, which correspond to ISO 5817 quality levels B and C. An acceptance level corresponding to ISO 5817 quality level D is not included in ISO 11666:2010 as ultrasonic testing is generally not requested for this weld quality.
These acceptance levels are applicable to testing carried out in accordance with ISO 17640.
ISO 11666:2010 applies to the examination of full penetration ferritic steel welds, with thicknesses from 8 mm to 100 mm. It can also be used for other types of welds, materials and thicknesses above 100 mm, provided the examinations have been performed with necessary consideration of the geometry and acoustic properties of the component, and an adequate sensitivity can be employed to enable the acceptance levels of ISO 11666:2010 to be applied. The nominal frequency of probes used in ISO 11666:2010 is between 2 MHz and 5 MHz unless attenuation or requirements for higher resolution call for other frequencies. The use of these acceptance levels in conjunction with frequencies outside this range needs to be considered carefully.

Diese Internationale Norm legt die Zulässigkeitsgrenzen 2 und 3 für die Ultraschallprüfung von voll durchgeschweißten
Schweißnähten in ferritischen Stählen fest, die den Bewertungsgruppen B und C von ISO 5817
entsprechen. Eine Zulässigkeitsgrenze entsprechend Bewertungsgruppe D von ISO 5817 wurde in diese
Norm nicht aufgenommen, da eine Ultraschallprüfung für Schweißnähte dieser Bewertungsgruppe im
Allgemeinen nicht verlangt wird.
Diese Zulässigkeitsgrenzen sind anwendbar für Prüfungen, die nach ISO 17640 durchgeführt werden.
Diese Internationale Norm ist anwendbar für die Prüfung von voll durchgeschweißten Schweißnähten in
ferritischen Stählen im Wanddickenbereich von 8 mm bis 100 mm. Sie kann auch für andere
Schweißnahttypen, andere Werkstoffe und Wanddicken über 100 mm angewendet werden, vorausgesetzt,
die Prüfungen wurden unter entsprechender Berücksichtigung von Geometrie und akustischen Eigenschaften
des Bauteils durchgeführt und es kann eine Prüfempfindlichkeit erreicht werden, mit der die
Zulässigkeitsgrenzen dieser Norm angewendet werden können. Die Nennfrequenz für die nach dieser
Europäischen Norm verwendeten Prüfköpfe liegt zwischen 2 MHz und 5 MHz, sofern nicht erhöhte
Schallschwächungen oder erhöhte Anforderungen an die Auflösung andere Frequenzen erfordern. Die
Anwendung dieser Zulässigkeitsgrenzen bei Prüfungen mit Frequenzen außerhalb des genannten Bereichs
bedarf zuvor einer kritischen Betrachtung.

L'ISO 11666:2010 spécifie les niveaux d'acceptation 2 et 3 pour le contrôle par ultrasons de joints en aciers ferritiques soudés à pleine pénétration, qui correspondent aux niveaux de qualité B et C de l'ISO 5817. Il n'a pas été inclus de niveau d'acceptation correspondant au niveau de qualité D de l'ISO 5817 dans l'ISO 11666:2010 car le contrôle par ultrasons n'est généralement pas demandé pour cette qualité de soudure.
Ces niveaux d'acceptation sont applicables aux contrôles effectués conformément à l'ISO 17640.
L'ISO 11666:2010 est applicable au contrôle de joints soudés à pleine pénétration en aciers ferritiques, d'épaisseurs allant de 8 mm à 100 mm. Elle peut également être utilisée pour d'autres types de soudures, de matériaux et pour des épaisseurs supérieures à 100 mm, dans la mesure où les contrôles ont été effectués en tenant compte de la géométrie et des caractéristiques acoustiques de l'élément soudé, et où une sensibilité appropriée peut être utilisée pour permettre l'application des niveaux d'acceptation de l'ISO 11666:2010. Neporušitveno preskušanje zvarnih spojev - Ultrazvočno preskušanje - Stopnje sprejemljivosti (ISO 11666:2010)
Ta evropski standard določa stopnji ultrazvočne sprejemljivosti 2 in 3, za zvarne spoje s popolno penetracijo, kar ustreza kakovostnim stopnjam B in C v EN ISO 5817. Glede na specifikacijo se lahko uporabijo druge stopnje sprejemljivosti.
Stopnja sprejemljivosti, ki ustreza stopnji D v EN ISO 5817, ni vključena v ta standard, ker se na splošno za tako kakovost zvarnih spojev ultrazvočno preskušanje ne zahteva.

This document (EN ISO 11666:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding”, the
secretariat of which is held by DIN, in collaboration with Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding and allied
processes".
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2011.
