This document specifies design, type test methods, marking and instruction requirements for cylinder valves with integrated pressure regulators (VIPRs) intended to be fitted to gas cylinders, pressure drums or tubes or used as a main valve for bundles of cylinders that convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases.
These are requirements for VIPRs that are in addition to those given in the relevant closure standard, for example, in ISO 10297 for cylinder valves, in ISO 17871 for quick-release cylinder valves, in ISO 17879 for self-closing cylinder valves or in ISO 23826 for ball valves. For ISO 17871, these requirements are only applicable to quick-release cylinder valves types B, C, D and E.
NOTE 1 If the pressure regulating system of a VIPR is acting as the primary valve operating mechanism, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826. This also includes designs where closure of the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is obtained by closing the seat of the pressure regulating system.
NOTE 2 If the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is located at the low-pressure side of the pressure regulating system, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826.
NOTE 3 The term “pressure receptacle” is used within this document to cover instances where no differentiation is necessary between gas cylinders, bundles of cylinders, pressure drums and tubes.
This document does not apply to VIPRs for
a) medical applications (see ISO 10524-3);
b) liquefied petroleum gas (LPG);
c) cryogenic applications.
NOTE 4 Additional requirements for a VIPR with a residual pressure device (RPD) are specified in ISO 15996.
NOTE 5 Additional requirements for pressure relief valves can exist in international/regional regulations/ standards.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an die Auslegung, die Baumusterprüfverfahren, die Kennzeichnung und die Betriebsanleitung für Flaschenventile mit integriertem Druckregler (VIPR) fest, die zum Einbau in Gasflaschen, Druckfässer oder Großflaschen bestimmt sind oder als Hauptabsperrventil für Flaschenbündel verwendet werden, die verdichtete, verflüssigte oder gelöste Gase befördern.
Dies sind Anforderungen an VIPR, die zusätzlich zu den in der jeweiligen Verschlussnorm genannten Anforderungen gestellt werden, z. B. in ISO 10297 für Flaschenventile, in ISO 17871 für Schnellöffnungs-Flaschenventile, in ISO 17879 für selbstschließende Flaschenventile oder in ISO 23826 für Kugelhähne. Für ISO 17871 gelten diese Anforderungen nur für Schnellöffnungs-Flaschenventile der Typen B, C, D und E.
ANMERKUNG 1 Wenn die Druckregeleinrichtung eines VIPR als primärer Ventilbetätigungsmechanismus dient, wird es von der entsprechenden Verschlussnorm abgedeckt, z. B. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 und ISO 23826. Dies schließt auch Auslegungen ein, bei denen das Schließen des primären Ventilbetätigungsmechanismus eines VIPR durch Schließen des Sitzes der Druckregeleinrichtung erreicht wird.
ANMERKUNG 2 Wenn der primäre Ventilbetätigungsmechanismus des VIPR auf der Niederdruckseite der Druckregeleinrichtung angeordnet ist, wird er von der entsprechenden Verschlussnorm abgedeckt, z. B. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 und ISO 23826.
ANMERKUNG 3 Der Begriff „Druckgefäß“ wird in diesem Dokument für die Fälle verwendet, in denen keine Unterscheidung zwischen Gasflaschen, Flaschenbündeln, Druckfässern und Großflaschen erforderlich ist.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für VIPR für
a) medizinische Anwendungen (siehe ISO 10524 3),
b) Flüssiggas (LPG, en: liquefied petroleum gas),
c) kryogene Einsatzbereiche.
ANMERKUNG 4 Zusätzliche Anforderungen an ein VIPR mit einer Restdruckeinrichtung (RPD, en: residual pressure device) sind in ISO 15996 festgelegt.
ANMERKUNG 5 Zusätzliche Anforderungen für Druckentlastungsventile können in internationalen/regionalen Rechtsvorschriften/Normen enthalten sein.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences relatives à la conception, aux méthodes d’essai de type, au marquage et aux instructions pour les robinets de bouteilles avec détendeurs intégrés (VIPR) destinés à être montés sur des bouteilles à gaz, des tubes ou des fûts à pression ou utilisés en tant que robinet principal de cadres de bouteilles transportant des gaz comprimés, liquéfiés ou dissous.
Il s’agit d’exigences pour les VIPR qui s’ajoutent à celles données dans la norme pertinente relative aux fermetures, par exemple dans l’ISO 10297 pour les robinets de bouteille, dans l’ISO 17871 pour les robinets de bouteilles à ouverture rapide, dans l’ISO 17879 pour les robinets de bouteille équipés de clapets auto-obturants ou dans l’ISO 23826 pour les robinets à boisseau sphérique. Pour l’ISO 17871, ces exigences ne sont applicables qu’aux robinets de bouteilles à ouverture rapide de types B, C, D et E.
NOTE 1 Si le système régulateur de pression d’un VIPR sert de mécanisme de manœuvre principal de robinet, il est couvert par la norme pertinente relative aux fermetures, par exemple l’ISO 10297, l’ISO 17871, l’ISO 17879 et l’ISO 23826. Cela inclut également les conceptions dans lesquelles la fermeture du mécanisme de manœuvre principal de robinet d’un VIPR est obtenue en fermant le siège du système régulateur de pression.

Ta dokument določa zasnovo, metode tipskega preskušanja, označevanje in zahteve glede navodil za ventile za jeklenke z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka (VIPR), ki se namestijo na plinske jeklenke, tlačne valje ali cevi oziroma se uporabljajo kot glavni ventil za sklope jeklenk za prenašanje stisnjenega, utekočinjenega ali raztopljenega plina.
Te zahteve za ventile za jeklenke z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka se uporabljajo poleg zahtev, podanih v ustreznem standardu za zapore, npr. v standardu ISO 10297 za ventile za jeklenke, ISO 17871 za ventile za hitro razbremenitev, ISO 17879 za samozaporne ventile za plinske jeklenke oziroma ISO 23826 za krogelne pipe. Za standard ISO 17871 se te zahteve uporabljajo samo za ventile jeklenk za hitro razbremenitev tipov B, C, D in E.
OPOMBA 1: Če sistem za regulacijo tlaka v okviru ventila z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka deluje kot glavni mehanizem za upravljanje ventilov, je zajet v ustreznem standardu za zapore, tj. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 oziroma ISO 23826. To vključuje tudi izvedbe, pri katerih se zapora glavnega mehanizma za upravljanje ventilov v okviru ventila z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka doseže z zaprtjem nastavka sistema za regulacijo tlaka.

OPOMBA 3: Izraz »tlačna posoda« se v tem dokumentu uporablja, kadar ni treba razlikovati med plinskimi jeklenkami, sklopi jeklenk, tlačnimi valji in cevmi.
Ta dokument se ne uporablja za ventile z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka za
a) medicinsko uporabo (glej standard ISO 10524-3);
b) utekočinjeni naftni plin (LPG);
c) uporabo v kriogenskih posodah.
OPOMBA 4: Dodatne zahteve za ventile z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka, opremljene z mehanizmom za zagotavljanje ostanka tlaka (RPD), so določene v standardu ISO 15996.
