EN 12463:2004/FprA1:2010 - Food processing machinery: Filling machines and auxiliary machines - Safety and hygiene requirements - is a CEN type C standard that specifies safety and hygiene provisions for filling machines and related auxiliary equipment used in the food industry. It addresses significant hazards, hazardous situations and events when machines are used as intended and under reasonably foreseeable misuse. This draft amendment A1 updates normative references and technical clauses to align the standard with contemporary CEN/ISO machinery and hygiene standards.

Foreword
This document (EN 12463:2004/FprA1:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 153
“Machinery intended for use with foodstuffs and feed”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This document is currently submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the
European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directives.
For relationship with EU Directive(s), see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of this document.
1 Modification to the Foreword
In the second but last paragraph, replace "EN 1672-2:1997" with "EN 1672-2:2005".

2 Modification to the Introduction
Replace the existing text with the following:
"This document is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events are
covered are indicated in the scope of this document.
When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the
provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines
that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard."
