ISO 14343:2009 specifies requirements for classification of wire electrodes, strip electrodes, wires and rods for gas-shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, plasma arc welding, submerged arc welding, electroslag welding and laser beam welding of stainless and heat‑resisting steels. The classification of the wire electrodes, strip electrodes, wires and rods is based upon their chemical composition.
ISO 14343:2009 is a combined specification providing for classification utilizing a system based upon nominal composition (system A), or utilizing a system based upon alloy type (system B).
Schweißzusätze - Drahtelektroden, Bandelektroden, Drähte und Stäbe zum Lichtbogenschweißen von korrosionsbeständigen und hitzebeständigen Stählen - Einteilung (ISO 14343:2009)
Diese Internationale Norm legt die Anforderungen zur Einteilung von Drahtelektroden, Bandelektroden, Drähten und Stäben zum Metall-Schutzgasschweißen, Wolfram-Inertgasschweißen, Plasmaschweißen, Unterpulver¬schweißen, Elektroschlackeschweißen und Laserstrahlschweißen korrosionsbeständiger und hitzebeständiger Stähle fest. Die Einteilung der Drahtelektroden, Bandelektroden, Drähte und Stäbe beruht auf ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung.
Diese Internationale Norm kombiniert Festlegungen für Einteilungen, denen ein System beruhend auf der Nennzusammen¬setzung (System A) oder ein System beruhend auf dem Legierungstyp (System B) zugrunde liegt.
a) Absätze mit der Bezeichnung „Einteilung nach der Nennzusammensetzung“ oder die durch ein nachge-stelltes „A“ oder durch „ISO 14343 A“ gekennzeichnet sind, sind nur für solche Produkte anwendbar, die nach System A eingeteilt sind.
b) Absätze mit der Bezeichnung „Einteilung nach dem Legierungstyp“ oder die durch ein nachgestelltes „B“ oder durch „ISO 14343-B“ gekennzeichnet sind, sind nur für solche Produkte anwendbar, die nach System B eingeteilt sind.
Absätze ohne eine dieser Bezeichnungen sind für Produkte anwendbar, die nach System A oder B oder nach beiden Systemen eingeteilt sind.

L'ISO 14343:2009 spécifie la classification des fils-électrodes, électrodes en feuillard, fils d'apport et baguettes de soudage, pour le soudage à l'arc avec électrode fusible sous protection gazeuse, le soudage à l'arc sous protection gazeuse avec électrode de tungstène (soudage TIG), le soudage plasma, le soudage à l'arc sous flux, le soudage sous laitier (électroconducteur) et le soudage laser des aciers inoxydables et des aciers résistant aux températures élevées. La classification des fils-électrodes, électrodes en feuillard, fils d'apport et baguettes de soudage est basée sur leur composition chimique.
L'ISO 14343:2009 permet l'usage de deux systèmes parallèles de classification, soit individuellement soit en combinaison: par composition nominale (système A) et/ou par type d'alliage (système B).

Ta mednarodni standard določa zahteve za klasifikacijo žičnih elektrod, trakov, žic in palic za elektroobločno varjenje v zaščitnem plinu, obločno varjenje z volframovo elektrodo pod zaščito obloka z inertnimi plini, plazemsko obločno varjenje, obločno varjenje pod praškom, varjenje pod žlindro in lasersko varjenje nerjavnih in ognjeodpornih jekel. Klasifikacija žičnih elektrod, trakov, žic in palic temelji na njihovi kemični sestavi. Ta mednarodni standard je kombinirana specifikacija, ki določa klasifikacijo z uporabo sistema na osnovi nazivne sestave (sistem A) ali sistema na osnovi vrste zlitine (sistem B). a) Odstavki, ki imajo oznako »klasifikacija v skladu z nazivno sestavo« in dodatno črko A ali »ISO 14343-A«, veljajo le za proizvode, razvrščene v skladu s sistemom A; b) Odstavki, ki imajo oznako »klasifikacija v skladu z vrsto zlitine« in dodatno črko B ali »ISO 14343-B«, veljajo le za proizvode, razvrščene v skladu s sistemom B. c) Odstavki brez oznake ali dodatne črke veljajo za proizvode, ki se lahko razvrstijo v skladu s sistemom A, B ali obema.

This document (EN ISO 14343:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding and
allied processes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding” the secretariat of which is
held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2010, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by May 2010.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 14343:2007.
