Multilayer piping systems for hot and cold water installations inside buildings - Part 5: Fitness for purpose of the system (ISO 21003-5:2008)

ISO 21003-5:2008 specifies the characteristics for the fitness for purpose of multilayer piping systems intended to be used for hot and cold water installations inside buildings for the conveyance of water — whether or not the water is intended for human consumption (domestic systems) or for heating systems — under specified design pressures and temperatures appropriate to the class of application.
It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this part of ISO 21003.
ISO 21003 is a reference product standard. It is applicable to multilayer pipes, fittings, their joints, and also to joints with components made of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for hot and cold water installations. ISO 21003-5 is intended for use only in conjunction with all the other parts of ISO 21003.

Dieser Teil der ISO 21003 legt die Eigenschaften für Rohre für Mehrschichtverbund-Rohrleitungssysteme fest, die in der Warm- und Kaltwasserinstallation innerhalb von Gebäuden für den Transport von Wasser eingesetzt werden - unabhängig davon, ob das Wasser für den menschlichen Gebrauch (Hausinstallation) oder für Heizungsanlagen verwendet wird - unter Berücksichtigung des betreffenden zulässigen Betriebsdruckes und der für die jeweilige Anwendungsklasse geltenden Temperaturen (siehe
ISO 21003-1:2008, Tabelle 1).
Diese Norm legt ebenfalls die Prüfparameter für die in diesem Teil der ISO 21003 behandelten Prüfverfahren fest.
ISO 21003 ist eine Bezugs-Produktnorm. Sie gilt für Mehrschichtverbund-Rohre, Formstücke, deren Verbindungen untereinander sowie auch mit Rohrleitungsteilen aus anderen Kunststoffen oder anderen Werkstoffen, die für die Warm- und Kaltwasserinstallation vorgesehen sind. Dieser Teil von ISO 21003 ist nur für die gemeinsame Anwendung mit allen anderen Teilen von ISO 21003 vorgesehen.
ISO 21003 gilt für verschiedene Anwendungsklassen, die sich auf Betriebsbedingungen beziehen, sowie für verschiedene Betriebsdrücke. Sie gilt nicht, wenn für die Berechnungstemperatur TD, für die maximale Berechnungstemperatur Tmax und für die Störfalltemperatur Tmal höhere als die in ISO 21003-1:2008, Tabelle 1 aufgeführten Werte zugrunde gelegt werden.
ANMERKUNG 1   Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Käufers oder Auftraggebers, die geeignete Auswahl aus diesen Aspekten zu treffen unter Berücksichtigung der besonderen Anforderungen und aller zutreffenden nationalen Vorschriften sowie Verlegevorschriften und Regeln.
Die für die druckbelasteten Schichten verwendeten Polymerwerkstoffe sind folgende: Polybuten (PB), Polyethylen mit erhöhter Temperaturbeständigkeit (PE-RT), vernetztes Polyethylen (PE-X), Polypropylen (PP) und chloriertes Polyvinylchlorid (PVC-C).

L'ISO 21003-5:2008 spécifie les caractéristiques d'aptitude à l'emploi des canalisations multicouches destinés aux installations d'eau chaude et froide à l'intérieur des bâtiments pour le transport de l'eau, destinée ou non à la consommation humaine (systèmes domestiques) et aux installations de chauffage, à des pressions et des températures correspondant à la classe d'application.
Elle spécifie aussi les paramètres d'essai pour les méthodes d'essai auxquelles il est fait référence dans la présente partie de l'ISO 21003.
L'ISO 21003 est une norme de produits de référence. Elle s'applique aux tubes, aux raccords, à leurs assemblages et aux assemblages avec des composants d'autres matières plastiques et non plastiques destinés aux installations d'eau chaude et froide. L'ISO 21003-5 est censée être utilisée uniquement conjointement avec toutes les autres parties de l'ISO 21003.

The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. The multilayer piping system is intended to be used for hot and cold water installations inside buildings. In respect of potential adverse effects on the quality of water intended for human consumption caused by the products covered by ISO 21003: ⎯ no information is provided as to whether the products may be used without restriction in any of the member states of the EU or EFTA; ⎯ it should be noted that, while awaiting the adoption of verifiable European criteria, existing national regulations concerning the use and/or the characteristics of these products remain in force. Requirements and test methods for components of the piping system are specified in ISO 21003-1, ISO 21003-2 and ISO 21003-3. ISO/TS 21003-7 gives guidance on the assessment of conformity. This part of ISO 21003 specifies the characteristics for fitness for purpose. For ancillary equipment, separate standards can apply. Guidance on installation of plastics piping systems made from various materials intended to be used for hot and cold water installations is given in ENV 12108. Other system standards which, at the date of publication of this part of ISO 21003, had been published for plastics piping systems used for the same application are listed in Annex A.

It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this part of ISO 21003. ISO 21003 is a reference product standard. It is applicable to multilayer pipes, fittings, their joints, and also to joints with components made of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for hot and cold water installations. This part of ISO 21003 is intended for use only in conjunction with all the other parts of ISO 21003. ISO 21003 covers a range of service conditions (application classes) and design pressures. It is not applicable for values of design temperature, TD, maximum design temperature, Tmax, and malfunction temperature, Tmal, in excess of those in Table 1 of ISO 21003-1:2008. NOTE 1
It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes. The polymeric materials used for the stress-designed layers are the following: polybutylene (PB), polyethylene of raised temperature resistance (PE-RT), crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X), polypropylene (PP) and chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-C). The PE-X used shall be fully crosslinked and shall comply with the requirements of the relevant reference product standard (ISO 15875).
