This Technical Specification constitutes the 2nd edition of CEN/TS 16794-1. It sets out the technical requirements to be met by contactless Public Transport (PT) devices in order to be able to interface together using the ISO/IEC 14443 standard contactless communications protocol.
This Technical Specification applies to PT devices:
PT readers which are contactless fare management system terminals acting as a PCD contactless reader based on ISO/IEC 14443 standard series;
PT objects which are contactless fare media acting as a PICC contactless object based on ISO/IEC 14443 standard series.
This new version also addresses interoperability of consumer-market NFC mobile devices, compliant to NFC Forum specifications, with above mentioned PT devices.
An interface–oriented test approach is used to evaluate the conformity of PT devices and is defined in CEN/TS 16794-2.
Application-to-application exchanges executed once contactless communication has been established at RF level fall outside the scope of this document. In line with the rules on independency between OSI protocol layers, this document works on the assumption that application-to-application exchanges are not contingent on the type of contactless communication established or by the parameters used for the low-level protocol layers that serve as the platform for these application-to-application exchanges.

Ta tehnična specifikacija predstavlja 2. izdajo standarda CEN/TS 16794-1. Določa tehnične zahteve, ki jih morajo izpolnjevati brezkontaktne naprave javnega prometa (PT), da jim je omogočeno skupno delovanje s pomočjo brezkontaktnega komunikacijskega protokola standarda ISO/IEC 14443.
Ta tehnična specifikacija velja za naslednje naprave javnega prometa:
čitalnike javnega prometa, ki so sistemi brezkontaktnih terminalov in delujejo kot brezkontaktni čitalniki PCD na podlagi skupine standardov ISO/IEC 14443;
predmete javnega prometa, ki so sistemi brezkontaktnih terminalov in delujejo kot brezkontaktni predmet PICC na podlagi skupine standardov ISO/IEC 14443.
Ta nova različica obravnava tudi interoperabilnost potrošniških mobilnih naprav NFC, ki so v skladu s specifikacijami foruma NFC, z zgoraj omenjenimi napravami javnega prometa.
Za ocenjevanje skladnosti naprav javnega prometa se vmesniško usmerjen testni pristop, ki je opredeljen v standardu CEN/TS 16794-2.
Izmenjave med aplikacijami, ki so izvedene po vzpostavitvi brezkontaktne komunikacije na radiofrekvenčni stopnji, ne spadajo v področje uporabe tega dokumenta. V skladu s pravili o neodvisnosti med plastmi protokolov OSI ta dokument predpostavlja, da izmenjave med aplikacijami niso odvisne od vrste vzpostavljene brezkontaktne komunikacije ali parametrov, ki se uporabljajo za protokole nižjih plasti, ki služijo kot platforma za te izmenjave med aplikacijami.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 17 April 2017 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS
available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in
parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.

However, a test application will be used so as to make end-to-end transactions during tests on the RF communication layer.
This document does not duplicate the contents of the ISO/IEC 14443 series or ISO/IEC DIS 10373-6 standard. It makes reference to the ISO/IEC DIS 10373 6 applicable test methods, specifies the test conditions to be used and describes the additional specific test conditions that may be run.
The list of test conditions applicable to the PT device under test will be conditioned by the Information Conformance Statement (ICS) declaration made by the device manufacturer. For each test case, the test conditions are clearly specified in order to determine the pertinence to run or not the test case in accordance with the device capabilities or in accordance with the device manufacturer’s choice.
In order to facilitate the test report issuance, a test report template is included in Annex A of this document.
Although this document aims at becoming the primary basis for certification of contactless communication protocol applicable to PT readers and PT objects, it does not describe any certification or qualification processes as such processes should be defined between local or global transit industry stakeholders.

This document specifies design, type test methods, marking and instruction requirements for cylinder valves with integrated pressure regulators (VIPRs) intended to be fitted to gas cylinders, pressure drums or tubes or used as a main valve for bundles of cylinders that convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases.
These are requirements for VIPRs that are in addition to those given in the relevant closure standard, for example, in ISO 10297 for cylinder valves, in ISO 17871 for quick-release cylinder valves, in ISO 17879 for self-closing cylinder valves or in ISO 23826 for ball valves. For ISO 17871, these requirements are only applicable to quick-release cylinder valves types B, C, D and E.
NOTE 1        If the pressure regulating system of a VIPR is acting as the primary valve operating mechanism, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826. This also includes designs where closure of the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is obtained by closing the seat of the pressure regulating system.
NOTE 2        If the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is located at the low-pressure side of the pressure regulating system, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826.
NOTE 3        The term “pressure receptacle” is used within this document to cover instances where no differentiation is necessary between gas cylinders, bundles of cylinders, pressure drums and tubes.
This document does not apply to VIPRs for
a)       medical applications (see ISO 10524-3);
b)       liquefied petroleum gas (LPG);
c)        cryogenic applications.
NOTE 4        Additional requirements for a VIPR with a residual pressure device (RPD) are specified in ISO 15996.
NOTE 5        Additional requirements for pressure relief valves can exist in international/regional regulations/ standards.
