Diese Norm gilt für Rundstahlketten mit einer Teilung von 2,8 d der Klasse 2.
Aus Rundstahlketten werden mit entsprechendem Zubehör, wie z. B. Übergangsgliedern, Wirbelschäkeln bzw. Vorläufern und Endgliedern, steglose Ankerketten für Fahrzeuge der Binnenschifffahrt hergestellt.
Diese Norm legt Maße, mechanische Eigenschaften, Angaben für die Bezeichnung, Kennzeichnung und Prüfbedingungen fest.
