ISO 8501-3:2006 describes preparation grades of welds, cut edges and other areas, on steel surfaces with imperfections. Such imperfections can become visible before and/or after an abrasive blast-cleaning process.
The preparation grades given are to make steel surfaces with imperfections, including welded and fabricated surfaces, suitable for the application of paints and related products.

Dieser Teil von ISO 8501 beschreibt Vorbereitungsgrade von Schweißnähten, Kanten und anderen Bereichen auf Stahloberflächen, die Unregelmäßigkeiten aufweisen. Solche Unregelmäßigkeiten können entweder vor und/oder nach dem Strahlen sichtbar werden.
Die für Stahloberflächen mit Unregelmäßigkeiten, einschließlich geschweißte und bearbeitete Oberflächen, in diesem Teil von ISO 8501 angegebenen Vorbereitungsgrade sollen diese Oberflächen für das Auftragen von Beschichtungsstoffen geeignet machen.

L'ISO 8501-3:2006 décrit les degrés de préparation de soudures, arêtes de coupe et autres zones, sur des subjectiles d'acier présentant des imperfections. Ces imperfections peuvent devenir visibles avant et/ou après la préparation par projection d'abrasifs.
Les degrés de préparation indiqués dans l'ISO 8501-3:2006 sont destinés à rendre les subjectiles présentant des imperfections, y compris les subjectiles soudés et préfabriqués, aptes à l'application de peintures et produits assimilés.

The text of ISO 8501-3:2006 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints and
varnishes” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over
as EN ISO 8501-3:2007 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 "Paints and varnishes", the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2008, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2008.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
