This International Standard specifies the dimensions, characteristics and tolerantes as well as galvanizing of anchor chains intended for use with small traft windlasses. 2 Field of application This International Standard applies to anchor chains of nominal diameters between 6 and 12 mm, intended for anchoring small traft and which tan be controlled using windlasses. 4.2 Mechanical properties lt does not apply to chains for lifting purposes. The values of the proof forte, F,, and the minimum breaking forte, F,, in table 1 correspond approximately to the mechanical properties shown in table 2.
