Furniture - Children's cots and folding cots for domestic use - Part 2: Test methods

This part of EN 716 describes test methods that assess the safety of children's cots and folding cots for domestic use. It applies to cots and folding cots withan internal length between 900 mm and 1400 mm that are designed to prevent the child from climbing out. It does not cover rocking and swinging cots. The tests are designed to be applied to a cot that is fully assembled and ready for use. Note: The test results are only valid for the article tested. When the test results are intended to be applied to other similar articles, the test specimen should be representative of the production model.

Möbel - Kinderbetten und Reisekinderbetten für den Wohnbereich - Teil 2: Prüfverfahren

Dieser Teil der EN 716 legt Prüfverfahren fest, nach denen die Sicherheit von Kinderbetten im häuslichen Gebrauch bewertet wird. Er gilt für Betten mit einer Länge zwischen 900 und 1400 mm, die so konstruiert sind, daß Kinder am Herausklettern gehindert werden. Kinderbetten mit einer Schaukel- oder Schwingfunktion werden von dieser Norm nicht behandelt. Die Prüfungen sind so ausgelegt, daß sie an einem vollständig zusammengebauten und gebrauchsfertigen Bett durchgeführt werden.

La présente partie de l'EN 716 spécifie les méthodes d'essai pour s'assurer de la sécurité des lits fixes et lits pliants pour enfants, à usage domestique. Elle s'applique aux lits fixes et aux lits pliants, de longueur intérieure comprise entre 900 et 1400 mm, conçus pour éviter que l'enfant ne se hisse hors du lit. Elle ne couvre pas les lits à bascule et à balancelle. Les essais sont conçus pour être appliqués à un lit entièrement assemblé et prêt à l'usage. Note: Les résultats d'essai ne sont valables que pour l'article soumis à l'essai.
