Soil quality - Determination of dehydrogenases activity in soils - Part 2: Method using iodotetrazolium chloride (INT) (ISO 23753-2:2019)

This document specifies a method for determining activity of dehydrogenases in soil, using 2-(4-iodophenyl)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-5-phenyltetrazolium chloride (INT)[1]-[5]. As the INT reduction is less sensitive to O2, the method is more robust than the TTC-method described in ISO 23753-1.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Aktivität von Dehydrogenasen im Boden mit 2 (4 Iodophenyl) 3 (4 nitrophenyl) 5 phenyltetrazoliumchlorid (INT) [1]–[5] fest. Da die INT Reduktion gegenüber O2 weniger empfindlich ist, ist das Verfahren robuster als das in ISO 23753 1 beschriebene TTC Verfahren.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode de détermination de l'activité des déshydrogénases dans le sol à l'aide de chlorure de 2-(4-iodophényl)-3-(4-nitrophényl)-5-phényltétrazolium (INT).[1]-[5] Comme la réduction de l'INT est moins sensible à la présence d'O2, cette méthode est plus robuste que la méthode au CTT décrite dans l'ISO 23753‑1.

This document (EN ISO 23753-2:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 190 "Soil
quality" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 444 “Test methods for environmental
characterization of solid matrices” the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2019, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2019.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
