Furniture - Cribs and cradles for domestic use - Part 2: Test methods

This part of prEN 1130 describes test methods that assess the safety of cribs and cradles for domestic use. The tests are designed to be applied to cribs/cradles that are fullly assembled and ready for use. NOTE: The test results are only valid for the article tested. When the test results are intended to be applied to other similar articles, the test specimen should be representative of the production model.

Dieser Teil der prEN 1130 legt Prüfverfahren fest, nach denen die Sicherheit von Krippen/Wiegen im häuslichen Gebrauch bewertet wird. Die Prüfungen sind so ausgelegt, daß sie an einer vollständig zusammengebauten und gebrauchsfertigen Krippe/Wiege durchgeführt werde. ANMERKUNG: Die Prüfergebnisse gelten nur für den geprüften Gegenstand. Werden die Prüfergebnisse auf weitere vergleichbare Krippen/Wiegen angewendet, dann sollte der Prüfling typisch für das Produktionsmodell sein.

La présente partie de la prEN 1130 décrit des méthodes d'essai pour s'assurer de la sécurité des berceaux à usage domestique. Les essais sont conçus pour être appliqués à des berceaux entièrement assemblés et prêts à l'usage. NOTE: Les résultats d'essai ne sont valables que pour l'article soumis à l'essai. Lorsque les résultats d'essai sont destinés à être appliqués à d'autres articles similaires, l'échantillon devrait être représentatif du modèle en production.

The requirements apply to cribs with a maximum internal length of crib base of 900 mm which are intended to provide sleeping accommodation for infants, until they are able to sit unaided or pull or push themselves up on their hands and knees.
This document does not apply to electrical safety.
It does not apply to cribs used for medical purposes or used in hospitals.
Products that can be converted into other items may be covered by other relevant European Standards.
Annex A (informative) includes a rationale.
Annex B (informative) includes an A-deviation.
