Ophthalmic instruments - Fundus cameras (ISO 10940:2009)

ISO 10940:2009, together with ISO 15004-1 and ISO 15004-2, specifies requirements and test methods for fundus cameras operating for observing, photographing or recording electronic images of the fundus of the human eye in order to provide the image information for diagnosis.
ISO 10940:2009 takes precedence over ISO 15004-1 and ISO 15004-2, if differences exist.

Diese Internationale Norm legt zusammen mit ISO 15004-1 und ISO 15004-2 Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren
für Funduskameras fest, die zur Beobachtung, Fotografie oder Aufzeichnung elektronischer Bilder
des Hintergrundes des menschlichen Auges dienen und somit Bildinformation für die Diagnose liefern. Diese
Internationale Norm gilt nicht für folgende Typen von Funduskameras:
- Instrumente, die das Auge während der Untersuchung berühren;
- Scanning-Geräte mit Laserquelle(n).
Wenn Unterschiede vorliegen, hat diese Internationale Norm Vorrang vor ISO 15004-1 und ISO 15004-2.

L'ISO 10940:2009 spécifie, conjointement à l'ISO 15004‑1 et à l'ISO 15004‑2, les exigences et les méthodes d'essai relatives aux appareils photographiques utilisés pour la visualisation, la photographie et la mémorisation d'images électroniques du fond de l'œil humain aux fins de diagnostic sur les images obtenues.
L'ISO 10940:2009 a la priorité sur l'ISO 15004‑1 et l'ISO 15004‑2 lorsque des différences existent.

This document (EN ISO 10940:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 172 "Optics and
photonics" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 170 “Ophthalmic optics”, the secretariat of
which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2010, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by February 2010.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 10940:1998.
