Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components - Fibre optic fan-outs - Part 1: Generic specification

IEC 61314-1:2009 specifies requirements for fan-outs used in the fibre optics field to provide a safe transition from multifibre cable units to individual fibres or cables. The specific technical changes from the previous edition are as follows: - classification was reconsidered; - optical intgerface standard was added to standardisation system. Future standards in this series will carry the general new title as cited above. Titles of existing standards in this series will be updated at the time of the new edition.

La CEI 61314-1:2009 spécifie les exigences pour les systèmes d'éclatement utilisés dans le domaine des fibres optiques pour fournir une transition sûre entre les unités de câbles multifibres et les fibres et câbles individuels. Les principales modifications par rapport à l'édition précédente sont indiquées ci-dessous: - la classification a été réexaminée; - la norme d'interface optique a été ajoutée au système de normalisation. Les normes futures de cette série porteront dorénavant le nouveau titre général cité ci-dessus. Le titre des normes existant déjà dans cette série sera mis à jour lors d'une prochaine édition.

Foreword
The text of document 86B/2694/CDV, future edition 3 of IEC 61314-1, prepared by SC 86B, Fibre optic
interconnecting devices and passive components, of IEC TC 86, Fibre optics, was submitted to the
IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61314-1 on 2009-04-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 61314-1:2005.
The specific technical changes from EN 61314-1:2005 are as follows:
– classification was reconsidered;
– optical interface standard was added to standardisation system.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2010-01-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2012-04-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
