Specification for the testing of balanced and coaxial information technology cabling - Part 2-21: Category 6 cords as specified in ISO/IEC 11801-1 - Blank detail specification

IEC 61935-2-21:2021 is a blank detail specification describing cords which are compliant with category 6 cabling requirements, as specified in ISO/IEC 11801-1. ISO/IEC 11801 and ISO/IEC 11801 series definitions and specifications referenced by this blank detail specification are currently covered by ISO/IEC 11801-1.
This document is intended to be used in conjunction with IEC 61935-2, IEC 61156-1, IEC 61156-6, IEC 60603-7-4 and IEC 60603-7-5. The blank detail specification determines the layout and style for detail specifications describing cords with transmission characteristics up to 250 MHz for digital communications. Detail specifications, based on the blank detail specification, can be prepared by a national organization, a manufacturer, or a user.
The test configuration applicable to cords is detailed in IEC 61935-2.

It specifies the design and construction, IEC type designation, workmanship, marking and packaging, standard rating and characteristics, electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements of finished semi-flexible cable assemblies, quality assessment, delivery and storage, etc.
This part of IEC 60966 applies to semi-flexible cable assemblies composed of semi-flexible coaxial cables and coaxial connectors. Semi-flexible cable assemblies are widely used in mobile communication systems, microwave test equipment, radar, aerospace and other fields.

Metallic communication cable test methods - Part 4-5: Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Screening or coupling attenuation - Absorbing clamp method

IEC 62153-4-5:2021 is suitable to determine the screening- or the coupling-attenuation of metallic communication cables in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 1 000 MHz (2 400 MHz), depending on the performance of the clamp. It is an alternative method to the triaxial method of IEC 62153-4-4 or IEC 62153-4-9. Due to the undefined outer circuit of this absorbing clamp method, the test results obtained at different places and laboratories could vary by at least ± 6 dB.

b. extension of frequency range to 2,4 GHz;

IEC 62153-4-16:2021 specifies a method to extrapolate the test results of transfer impedance to higher frequencies and the test results of screening attenuation to lower frequencies when measured with the triaxial set-up in accordance with IEC 62153-4-3, IEC 62153‑4‑4 and IEC 62153-4-15. This method is applicable for homogenous screens, i.e. screens having a transfer impedance directly proportional to length.

- replacement of the conversion formula which was limited to a matched DUT by a new conversion formula suitable for any load conditions.

b) application of a test adapter was added;
c) application of a moveable shorting plane;
d) application of the triaxial "absorber" cell;
e) correction of test results in the case that the receiver input impedance R is higher than the characteristic impedance of the outer circuit Z2.

- Annex F gives normative information about mixed mode parameters;
- Annex G contains normative information about accessories for measuring coupling attenuation;
- Annex H discusses the low frequency screening attenuation.
