BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 245, Aircraft Lockwire, was drawn up by Technical Committee
ISO/TC 20, Aircraft, the Secretariat of which is held by the British Standards Institution (B.S.I.).
Work on this question by the Technical Commniitte began in 1958 and led, in 1959, to the
adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In August 1960, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 400) was submitted to all the IS0
Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved, subject to some editorial amendments, by the fol-
lowing Member Bodies :

Belgium Iran Spain
Canada Israel Sweden
Chile Italy Turkey
Colombia Japan United Kingdom
Czechoslovakia Netherlands U.S.S.R.
Finland New Zealand
One Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft: Germany.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 245, Fil à freiner pour l’aéronautique, a été élaborée par le
Comité Technique ISO/TC 20, Aéronautique, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par la British Standards
Institution (B.S.I.).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en 1958 et
aboutirent en 1959 à l‘adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En août 1960, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 400) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous
les Comités Membres de 1’ISO. I1 fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications d’ordre
rédactionnel, par les Comités Membres suivants :
