Protective clothing - Protection against liquid chemicals - Test method: Determination of resistance to penetration by spray (Spray Test)

This European Standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of chemical protective clothing to penetration by sprays of liquid chemicals.  This European Standard is applicable to clothing which may comprise one or more items and which is intended to be worn when there is risk of exposure to slight splashes of a liquid chemical or to spray particles that coalesce and run off the surface of the garment.  This European Standard is applicable to clothing which is intended to be resistant to penetration under conditions which usually require total body surface cover, but do not demand the wearing of gas-tight clothing.   This European Standard is not applicable to the permeation of liquid chemicals through the materials from which the clothing is made.

Schutzkleidung - Schutz gegen flüssige Chemikalien - Prüfverfahren: Bestimmung der Beständigkeit gegen das Durchdringen von Spray (Spray-Test)

Die nach diesem Prüfverfahren bewertete Kleidung kann aus einem oder mehreren Teilen bestehen und soll unter Bedingungen, die normalerweise einen Ganzkörperschutz, aber noch nicht das Tragen einer gasdichten Kleidung erfordern, einer Penetration widerstehen. Die einer Penetration des Sprays widerstehende Kleidung soll getragen werden, wenn die Gefahr einer Aussetzung gegenüber geringen Spritzern einer flüssigen Chemikalie oder gegenüber Spraypartikeln auf einem zusammenlaufenden Punkt und dem Ablauf von deren Oberfläche besteht.

Le vetement évalué par cet essai peut comporter un ou plusieurs articles et est conçu pour résister a la pénétration dans des conditions qui exigent généralement de couvrir la totalité de la surface du corps mais n'exigent pas le port d'une tenue étanche aux gaz. Le vetement résistant a la pénétration par le brouillard doit etre porté lorsqu'il y a un risque d'exposition a de légeres éclaboussures d'un produit chimique liquide ou a des particules présentes sous forme de brouillard au point de coalescence et d'écoulement de sa surface.
