Earth-moving machinery - Safety - Part 6: Requirements for dumpers
This part of prEN 474 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to wheel and crawler dumpers as defined in EN ISO 6165:2002, including compact dumpers, and compact dumpers with standing operator when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). The requirements of this part are complementary to common requirements formulated in part 1.
This part does not repeat the requirements from part 1, but adds or replaces the requirements for application for dumpers.
This part specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events during commissioning, operation and maintenance of dumpers.
Pedestrian controlled dumpers are excluded from scope of this European Standard.
This European Standard is not applicable to dumpers, manufactured before the date of publication of this European Standard by CEN.

Diese Europäische Norm muß zusammen mit prEN 474-1:2001-Erdbaumaschinen-Sicherheit-Teil1:
Allgemeine Anforderungen, in dem die allgemeinen Anforderungen für Erdbaumaschinen beschrieben sind, angewendet werden.
Diese Norm legt zusätzliche Anforderungen und/ oder Abweichungen zu /von prEN 474-1:2001 fest.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Muldenfahrzeuge auf Rädern und Kettenlaufwerk, wie sie in
EN ISO 6165:1999 definiert sind, und beinhaltet zusätzliche Anforderungen für artverwandte Maschinen.
Dieses Norm gilt auch für Kompaktmuldenfahrzeuge wie sie in 3.5 definiert sind.
Diese europäische Norm behandelt die signifikanten artspezifischen Gefährdungen, die von Muldenfahrzeugen ausgehen, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß entsprechend den Empfehlungen des Herstellers verwendet werden. (siehe Anhang A und Anhang A von prEN 474-1:2001)
Diese europäische Norm beschreibt die angemessenen Maßnahmen um das Risiko, welches von den signifikanten artspezifischen Gefährdungen ausgeht, zu beseitigen oder zu reduzieren.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Muldenfahrzeuge, die nach dem Ausgabedatum der Norm hergestellt wurden.

Cette Norme Européenne doit etre utilisée conjointement avec le prEN 474-1 : 2001 Engins de terrassement - Sécurité - Partie 1: Prescriptions générales, qui spécifie les prescriptions générales pour les engins de terrassement.
Cette Norme Européenne donne des prescriptions complémentaires et/ou des exceptions au prEN 474-1 : 2001.
Cette Norme Européenne s'applique aux tombereaux sur roues et sur chenilles tels que définis dans l'EN ISO 6165: 1999 et donne les prescriptions supplémentaires pour les engins dérivés. La présente norme s'applique aussi aux moto-basculeurs tels que définis en 3.5.
Cette Norme Européenne traite de tous les phénomenes dangereux significatifs relatifs aux tombereaux sur roues et sur chenilles lorsqu'elles sont utilisées selon les conditions prévues par le constructeur. (Voir l'annexe A de cette norme et l'annexe A du prEN 474-1 : 2001). Cette Norme Européenne spécifie les mesures techniques appropriées pour éliminer ou réduire les risques dus aux phénomenes dangereux significatifs.
La présente norme Européenne s'appliquent aux tombereaux sur roues et sur chenilles qui sont fabriqués apres sa publication.

Foreword
This document (EN 474-6:2006) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 151 “Construction
equipment and building material machines — Safety”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2007, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by November 2008.
This European Standard supersedes EN 474-6:1996.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the

Introduction
This part of EN 474 is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100-1:2003.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are
indicated in the scope of this document.
When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the
provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines
that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard.
