EN 62368-1:2014/prAB:2018 is a CENELEC draft amendment to the European safety standard for audio/video, information and communication technology equipment (based on IEC 62368-1:2014, modified). 10 1. Modification to the foreword
11 Modify the 6th paragraph of the foreword as follows:
12 This standard covers the Principle Elements of the Safety Objectives for Electrical Equipment Designed
13 for Use within Certain Voltage Limits (LVD - 2014/30/EU).
15 Add a new paragraph after the 6th paragraph in the foreword as follows:
17 This standard covers the health and safety objectives in Article 3.1 (a) of the Directive on the
18 harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of radio
19 equipment and repealing Directive 1999/5/EC (RED – 2014/53/EU).
21 2. Modification to Scope
22 Modify the 4th paragraph of as follows:
23 This part of EN 62328 specifies safeguards for ordinary persons, instructed persons, and skilled
24 persons under normal operating conditions, abnormal operating conditions (including reasonably
25 foreseeable misuse) and single fault conditions. Additional requirements may apply for equipment that
26 is clearly designed or intended for use by children or specifically attractive to children.
28 3. Modification to 4.1.1
29 Delete the following lines from 4.1.1:
31 Components and subassemblies that comply with EN 60950-1 or EN 60065 are acceptable as part of
32 equipment covered by this standard without further evaluation other than to give consideration to the
33 appropriate use of the component or subassembly in the end-product.
35 NOTE This paragraph will be deleted in edition 3 of this standard. It is added here to provide a smooth transition from the latest
36 editions of EN 60950-1 and EN 60065 to this standard.
