Protective clothing for users of hand-held chainsaws - Part 7: Requirements for chainsaw protective gloves

This European Standard specifies the requirements for gloves for resistance to cutting by a chainsaw when assessed by the test method described in EN 381-4. The requirements are also given for marking and for the provision of information to be supplied by the manufacturer including cirteria for the selection of appropriate gloves, and instructions for use.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an Schutzhandschuhe gegen Schnitte durch handgeführte Kettensägen bei einer Überprüfung nach dem in prEN 381-4 beschriebenen Prüfverfahren fest. Weiterhin festgelegt sind die Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung und den Inhalt der vom Hersteller beizulegenden Informationsbroschüre mit Kriterien zur Auswahl passender Handschuhe sowie einer Gebrauchsanleitung.

Les exigences sont également données pour le marquage et pour le contenu de la notice d'information a fournir par le fabricant, y compris les criteres de sélection de gants appropriés et le mode d'emploi.

This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods, marking and information for protective gloves against heat and/or flame and hands protective equipment against domestic thermal risks.
It should be used for all gloves and hands protective equipment which protect the hands or part of the hand against heat and/or flame in one or more of the following forms: flame, contact heat, convective heat, radiant heat, small splashes or large quantities of molten metal.
This standard is only applicable in conjunction with EN 420.
There are other standards relevant to specific applications, as for example fire-fighting or welding.
Product tests may only give performance levels and not protection levels.
