Adhesives - Determination of isocyanate content

This European Standard specifies a method for the determination of the isocyanate content of adhesives, adhesive components and their basic constituents.
It is not applicable to products containing blocked isocyanate groups which can be liberated by the reagents used in this test method.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Isocyanatgehaltes von Klebstoffen, Klebstoff-Komponenten und deren Grundbestandteile fest.
Dieses Verfahren ist nicht anwendbar bei Produkten, die blockierte Isocyanatgruppen enthalten, die durch die bei diesem Prüfverfahren benutzten Reagenzien freigesetzt werden können.

EN 1242:2013 (CEN) - "Adhesives - Determination of isocyanate content" - specifies a standardized chemical test method for measuring the isocyanate content (-NCO) of adhesives, adhesive components and their basic constituents. The method is intended for raw materials and formulated adhesives except products containing blocked isocyanate groups that can be liberated by the test reagents. This European Standard replaces EN 1242:2005 and clarifies reagents (notably the inclusion of ethanol) and procedural requirements.
