EN-IEC 60079-19 gives instructions, principally of a technical nature, on the repair, overhaul, reclamation and modification of Ex equipment designed for use in explosive atmospheres; - applies to overhaul and repair which mitigates deficiencies identified during operation, inspection and maintenance; - does not give advice on cable and wiring systems which can require a renewal when the equipment is re-installed; and - is not applicable to Type of Protection “m”.

IEC 60079-19:2019 donne des instructions, principalement de nature technique, pour la réparation, la révision, la remise en état et la modification de l’appareil Ex conçu pour être utilisé en atmosphères explosives.
Il s’applique à la révision et à la réparation qui atténuent les déficiences identifiées en fonctionnement et lors d’opérations d’inspection et de maintenance. Il ne fournit pas de conseils sur les systèmes de câblage qui peuvent exiger un renouvellement quand l’appareil est réinstallé, et il n’est pas applicable au mode de protection “m”.
Cette quatrième édition annule et remplace la troisième édition parue en 2010, ainsi que l’Amendement 1:2015. Cette édition constitue une révision technique.
L’importance des modifications entre l’IEC 60079-19, Édition 3 (2010), y compris l’Amendement 1 (2015), et l’IEC 60079-19, Édition 4 (2019) est indiquée comme modifications mineures et rédactionnelles, extension et modifications techniques majeures.

"Classification of hazardous areas and installation requirements" of IEC/TC 31 "Equipment for
explosive atmospheres" was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by
CENELEC as EN IEC 60079-19:2019.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2020-08-22
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2022-11-22
document have to be withdrawn
This document supersedes EN 60079-19:2011 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).
