Glass in building - Determination of the bending strength of glass - Part 1: Fundamentals of testing glass

This standard specifies the determination of the bending strength of monolithic glass for use in buildings. The testing of insulating units or laminated glass is excluded from this standard. This standard describes: - considerations to be taken into account when testing glass, - explanations of the reasons for designing different test methods, - limitations of the test methods, and gives pointers to safety requirements for the personnel operating the test equipment.

Diese Europäische Norm stellt zur Bestimmung der Biegefestigkeit von monolithischem Glas im Bauwesen fest. Zur Prüfung von Mehrscheiben-Isolierglas oder Verbundglas ist diese Norm nicht anwendbar. Diese Norm beschreibt: a) Überlegungen, die bei der Prüfung von Glas zu berücksichtigen sind; b) Erläuterungen der Gründe für die Erarbeitung verschiedener Prüfverfahren; c) Grenzen der Prüfverfahren; und gibt Hinweise zu Sicherheitsvorschriften für das mit der Prüfeinrichtung arbeitende Personal.

Cette Norme Européenne est appliquée pour déterminer la résistance a la flexion du verre monolithique utilisé dans les bâtiments. Les essais sur vitrages isolants ou verres feuilletés sont exclus de cette norme. Cette norme décrit: - les éléments a prendre en considération lors des essais sur le verre, - justifications des différentes méthodes d'essai, - les limitations des méthodes d'essai, et donne des conseils de sécurité pour le personnel qui mene ces essais.
