Plating and anodizing lines - Safety requirements

This document describes all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relating to plating and
anodizing lines, when used as intended and in compliance with the foreseeable conditions of the
manufacturer. In addition, procedures for testing and measuring safety requirements, marking of
equipment and minimum operation requirements are specified.
For reference to plating lines and anodizing lines the term plating line is used in this document.
This document applies to the design and construction of plating lines and anodizing lines including their
transporter systems for surface treatment of industrial products by means of inorganic or organic
electrolytes or by means of other process chemistries.
Plating lines and anodizing lines in terms of this standard are arrangements of process tanks for:
— electrolytic treatment of work pieces (e.g. electrocleaning, passivation, electroetching, burnishing,
electrolytic polishing and brightening, drying);
— wet chemical treatment of work pieces (e.g. degreasing, passivation, chemical polishing, etching,
pickling, blackening);
— electrolytic and electro-less metal deposition, even on non-metallic work pieces made electrically
conductive by corresponding treatment;
— changing of substance composition on the surface of metallic work pieces e.g. burnishing, blackening,
phosphatizing, chromating and;
— anodizing (anodic oxidation);
including rinsing tanks and the corresponding transporter equipment (e.g. transporter systems, handling
gantry, bean, etc.), where the products are lifted in and out of tanks.
This document distinguishes between the following types of plating lines:
— Type 1: manual lines;
— Type 2: semi-automatic lines;
— Type 3: fully automatic lines.
Furthermore, it specifies equipment marking and requirements on user information.
This document does not deal with hazards resulting from plating linesparts above category 1 of PED
(Pressure Equipment Directive).
This document is not applicable to:
— transporter systems of carrousel lines (see EN 618 and EN 15095);
— equipment for the preparation and treatment of water and waste water;
— machinery for dip coating and electro-deposition of organic liquid coating material (EN 12581);
— horizontal plating lines (e.g. printed circuit board, etching, reel to reel, continuous plating lines);
— machinery for surface cleaning and surface pre-treatment of industrial items using liquids or vapours
(EN 12921-1, EN 12921-2, EN 12921-3, EN 12921-4).
NOTE Machinery for surface cleaning and surface pre-treatment (EN 12921 series) could be part of a plating
line.

Galvanik- und Anodisieranlagen - Sicherheitsanforderungen

Dieses Dokument behandelt alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen oder Gefährdungsereignisse, die an Galvanik- und Anodisieranlagen auftreten, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter Bedingungen, die vom Hersteller als Fehlanwendung vernünftigerweise vorhersehbar sind, verwendet werden. Außerdem werden Verfahren zur Prüfung und Messung der Sicherheitsanforderungen, die Geräte-Kennzeichnung und die Mindestanforderungen an den Betrieb festgelegt.
In diesem Dokument werden Galvanik- und Anodisieranlagen als Galvanikanlagen bezeichnet.
Dieses Dokument gilt für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von Galvanik- und Anodisieranlagen einschließlich ihrer Transportsysteme zur Oberflächenbehandlung industrieller Waren mittels anorganischer oder organischer Elektrolyte oder mittels anderer Prozessmedien.
Galvanikanlagen im Sinne dieses Dokuments sind Anordnungen von Prozessbädern für das
-   elektrolytische Behandeln von Werkstücken (z. B. elektrolytisches Reinigen, Passivieren, Elektroätzen, Polieren, elektrolytisches Polieren und Glänzen, Trocknen);
-   nass-chemische Behandeln von Werkstücken (z. B. Entfetten, Passivieren, chemisches Polieren, Ätzen, Dekapieren, Schwärzen);
-   elektrolytische und außenstromlose Metallabscheiden, auch auf durch entsprechende Behandlung elektrisch leitend gemachten, nichtmetallischen Werkstücken;
-   Ändern der Stoffzusammensetzung an der Oberfläche von metallischen Werkstücken, z. B. Polieren, Brünieren, Phosphatieren, Chromatieren und
-   Anodisieren (anodische Oxidation),
einschließlich der Spülbäder und der entsprechenden Transportsysteme (z. B. Hebezeuge, Portalsysteme, Trommeln), wobei die Waren in die Prozessbäder ein- und ausgefahren werden.
Dieses Dokument unterscheidet drei Bauarten von Galvanikanlagen:
Bauart 1:   manuelle Anlagen
Bauart 2:   halbautomatische Anlagen
Bauart 3:   vollautomatische Anlagen
Außerdem legt es die Gerätekennzeichnung und die Anforderungen an die Benutzerinformationen fest.
Dieses Dokument behandelt keine Gefährdungen, die durch Teile von Galvanikanlagen mit einer höheren Einstufung als Kategorie 1 der DGRL (Druckgeräterichtline) hervorgerufen werden.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für:
-   Transportsysteme von Karussellanlagen (siehe EN 618:2011-06 und EN 15095);
-   Ausrüstung zum Aufbereiten und Behandeln von Wasser und Abwasser;
-   Tauchbeschichtungs- und Elektrotauchbeschichtungsanlagen für organische flüssige Beschichtungsstoffe (EN 12581);
-   horizontale Galvanikanlagen (z. B. Anlagen zur Leiterplattenfertigung und zum Ätzen, Reel-to-Reel-Anlagen, Durchlaufanlagen);
-   Maschinen zur Oberflächenreinigung und "vorbehandlung von industriellen Produkten mittels Flüssigkeiten oder Dampfphasen (EN 12921-1, EN 12921-2, EN 12921-3, EN 12921-4).
ANMERKUNG   Maschinen zur Oberflächenreinigung und -vorbehandlung (Normenreihe EN 12921) können Teil einer Galvanikanlage sein.

Equipement de traitement de finition chimique et électrolytique - Exigences de sécurité

Le présent document décrit tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses et événements dangereux significatifs relatifs aux lignes de traitement de surface et d’anodisation, lorsqu’ils sont utilisés normalement et en conformité avec les conditions prévisibles par le fabricant. En outre, il spécifie les modes opératoires d’essai et de mesurage des prescriptions de sécurité, le marquage des équipements et les prescriptions minimales d’exploitation.
Le terme « ligne de traitement de surface » est utilisé dans le présent document en référence aux lignes de traitement de surface et d’anodisation.
Le présent document s’applique à la conception et à la construction de lignes de traitement de surface et d’anodisation, y compris leurs systèmes de transport pour le traitement de surface de produits industriels au moyen d’électrolytes organiques ou inorganiques, ou au moyen d’autres procédés chimiques.
Au sens de la présente norme, les lignes de traitement de surface et d’anodisation sont des installations de cuves de traitement pour :
-   le traitement électrolytique de pièces (par exemple, nettoyage électrolytique, passivation, décapage électrolytique, brunissage, polissage électrolytique et brillantage, séchage) ;
-   le traitement chimique par voie humide de pièces (par exemple, dégraissage, passivation, polissage chimique, décapage, dérochage, bronzage) ;
-   la dépôt de métaux par voie électrochimique et chimique, y compris sur des pièces non métalliques rendues électriquement conductrices par le traitement correspondant ;
-   le changement de composition de la substance sur la surface de pièces métalliques, par exemple, brunissage, bronzage, phosphatation et chromatation ; et
-   l’anodisation (oxydation anodique) ;
y compris les cuves de rinçage et les équipements de transport correspondants (par exemple, systèmes de transport, portique de manutention, poutre, etc.), où les produits sont introduits et sortis des cuves.
Le présent document établit une distinction entre les types de lignes de traitement de surface suivants :
-   Type 1 : lignes manuelles ;
-   Type 2 : lignes semi-automatiques ;
-   Type 3 :    lignes entièrement automatisées.
Il spécifie par ailleurs le marquage des équipements et les prescriptions relatives aux informations à l’attention des utilisateurs.
Le présent document ne couvre pas les risques liés aux parties des lignes de traitement de surface relevant d’une catégorie supérieure à la catégorie 1 de la DESP (Directive Équipements Sous Pression).
Le présent document ne s'applique pas :
-   aux systèmes de transport des lignes à carrousel (voir l’EN 618 et l’EN 15095) ;
-   aux équipements de préparation et de traitement de l’eau et des eaux usées ;
-   aux machines de revêtement par immersion et d’électrodéposition de matériau de revêtement liquide organique (EN 12581) ;
-   aux lignes de traitement de surface horizontales (par exemple, lignes de traitement de surface pour circuits imprimés, décapage, bobine à bobine, continues) ;
-   aux machines de nettoyage de surface et de prétraitement de surface d’articles industriels utilisant des liquides ou des vapeurs (EN 12921-1, EN 12921-2, EN 12921-3, EN 12921-4).
NOTE   Les machines de nettoyage de surface et de prétraitement de surface (série EN 12921) peuvent faire partie d’une ligne de traitement de surface.

Galvanizacijske in anodizirne linije - Varnostne zahteve

V tem dokumentu so opisana vsa večja tveganja, nevarne situacije in dogodki, povezani z galvanizacijskimi in anodizirnimi linijami, kadar se uporabljajo v skladu z njihovim namenom in pod pričakovanimi pogoji proizvajalca. Poleg tega so določeni postopki za preskušanje in merjenje varnostnih zahtev, označevanje opreme in minimalne obratovalne zahteve.
V tem dokumentu se izraz galvanizacijska linija uporablja za galvanizacijske in anodizirne linije.
Ta dokument se uporablja za načrtovanje in konstrukcijo galvanizacijskih in anodizirnih linij, vključno s sistemi za njihov transport, za površinsko obdelavo industrijskih izdelkov z anorganskimi ali organskimi elektroliti ali s pomočjo drugih procesnih kemikalij.

vključno rezervoarji za izpiranje in ustrezno transportno opremo (npr. transportni sistemi za ravnanje z nosilci itd.), če se izdelki dvigujejo v rezervoarje in iz njih.
Ta dokument razlikuje med naslednjimi tipi galvanizacijskih linij:
– tip 1: ročne linije;
– tip 2: polavtomatske linije;
– tip 3: avtomatske linije.
Poleg tega določa označevanje opreme in zahteve za uporabniške informacije.
