Plastics - Determination of apparent density of moulding material that cannot be poured from a specified funnel (ISO 61:2023)
A portion of 60 g of loose moulding material is dropped little by little into a measuring cylinder as evenly distributed as possible. A plunger with specified mass fitting to the measuring cylinder is slowly lowered until it is entirely supported by the material. After 1 min the volume of the material with the plunger resting upon it, shall be determined and the apparent density shall be calculated.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der scheinbaren Dichte, d. h. der Masse je Volumeneinheit, von losem Material, das nicht durch einen Trichter vorgegebener Ausführung abfließen kann, fest.
ANMERKUNG Zum Verfahren zur Bestimmung der scheinbaren Dichte von losen Formmassen, die durch einen gegebenen Trichter abfließen können, siehe ISO 60.
Dieses Dokument ist anwendbar für lose Formmassen, wie z. B. Mahlgut/Schnitzel, Granulat oder Pulver.

La présente Norme Internationale spécifie une méthode de détermination de la masse volumique apparente, c'est-à-dire la masse par unité de volume, des matières à mouler non tassées, qui ne sont pas susceptibles de s'écouler à travers un entonnoir d'un modèle déterminé. NOTE - Pour une méthode de détermination de la masse volumique apparente des matières à mouler susceptibles de s'écouler à travers un entonnoir donné, voir ISO 60. La connaissance de la masse volumique apparente ne peut servir à comparer l'expansion ou le foisonnement de matières à mouler que si leur densité à l'état moulé est approximativement la même.

60 g sipkega materiala za oblikovanje se postopoma in čim bolj enakomerno doda v merilni valj. Bat z določeno maso na merilnem valju se počasi spušča, dokler ga material v celoti ne podpira. Po eni minuti je treba določiti prostornino materiala, ki ga bat stiska, in izračunati nasipno maso.

This document (EN ISO 61:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 “Plastics” the secretariat of which is held by SIS.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2024, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2024.
