Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur chemischen Bestimmung freien Formaldehyds in Phenolharzen durch potentiometrische Titration in wässriger oder organischer Lösung. Das Verfahren gilt für Harze mit einem Gehalt an freiem Formaldehyd bis zu 15 % einschließlich (m/m). Bei einem Gehaltan freiem Formaldehyd zwischen 15 % (m/m) und 30 % (m/m) kann es erforderlich sein, die Konzentrationen der verwendeten volumatrischen Normallösung entsprechend anzugleichen.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
