Plastics piping systems for water supply - Polyethylene (PE) - Part 1: General

This Part of EN 12201 specifies the general aspects of polyethylene (PE) piping systems (mains and service pipes) intended for the conveyance of water for human consumption, including raw water prior to treatment.
It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard.In conjunction with other Parts of EN 12201 it is applicable to PE pipes, fittings, valves, their joints and to joints with components of other materials intended to be used under the following conditions:
a) a maximum operating pressure, MOP, up to and including 25 bar;
b) an operating temperature of 20 °C as a reference temperature.
NOTE 1 : For applications operating at constant temperatures greater than 20 °C and up to 40 °C, see annex A. EN 12201 covers a range of maximum operating pressures and gives requirements concerning colours and additives.
NOTE 2 : It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national guidance or regulations and installation practices or codes.

Kunstoff-Rohrleitungssysteme für die Wasserversorgung - Polyethylen (PE) - Teil 1: Allgemeines

Dieser Teil von prEN 12201 legt allgemeine Anforderungen an Rohrleitungssysteme (Haupt- und Anschlussleitungen) aus Polyethylen (PE) fest, die für die Wasserversorgung für den menschlichen Gebrauch sowie für die Fortleitung von Rohwasser, das zur Aufbereitung zu Trinkwasser verwendet wird, eingesetzt werden.
Sie legt auch die Prüfparameter für die Prüfverfahren fest, auf die in dieser Norm verwiesen wird.
Zusammen mit den übrigen Teilen der prEN 12201 gilt dieser Teil für Rohre, Formstücke und Armaturen aus PE, deren Verbindungen untereinander sowie mit Rohrleitungsteilen aus anderen Werkstoffen, die zur Verwendung unter den folgenden Bedingungen vorgesehen sind:
a) der maximal zulässige Betriebsdruck MOP beträgt nicht mehr als 25 bar );
b) es gilt eine Betriebstemperatur von 20 °C als Bezugstemperatur.
ANMERKUNG 1   Für Anwendungsgebiete, in denen konstante Betriebstemperaturen über 20 °C bis maximal 40 °C auftreten, siehe Anhang A.
EN 12201 enthält Festlegungen über maximal zulässige Betriebsdrücke und legt Anforderungen an die Einfärbung von Rohrleitungsteilen sowie die Verwendung von Zusatzstoffen fest.
ANMERKUNG 2   Der Anwender bzw. Auftraggeber ist unter Berücksichtigung der eigenen Anforderungen sowie der geltenden nationalen Empfehlungen oder Festlegungen und Verlegepraktiken für die entsprechende Auswahl dieser Kriterien verantwortlich.

Systemes de canalisations en plastiques pour alimentation en eau - Polyéthylene (PE) - Partie 1: Généralités

La présente partie de l'EN 12201 spécifie les aspects généraux des systemes de canalisations en polyéthylene (PE) (canalisations de distribution et de branchement) dans le domaine de l'alimentation en eau destinée a la consommation humaine, y compris le transport des eaux brutes avant traitement.
Elle spécifie également les parametres d'essai pour les méthodes d'essai auxquelles il est fait référence dans la présente norme.
Conjointement aux autres parties de l'EN 12201, elle s'applique aux tubes, raccords, robinets en PE, a leurs assemblages et aux assemblages avec des composants non fabriqués en matieres plastiques destinés a etre utilisés selon les conditions suivantes :
a)   une pression de service maximale, MOP,  pouvant atteindre jusqu'a 25 bar ) inclus ;
b)   une température de service de 20 °C comme température de référence.
NOTE 1   Pour des applications fonctionnant a des températures constantes supérieures a 20 °C et jusqu'a 40 °C voir l'Annexe A.
L'EN 12201 comprend une gamme étendue de pressions de service et spécifie les exigences concernant les couleurs et les additifs.

EN 12201-1:2003 (E)3ForewordThis document EN 12201-1:2003 has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN /TC 155, "Plastics pipingsystems and ducting systems" the secretariat of which is held by NEN.This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text orby endorsement, at the latest by September 2003, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at thelatest by March 2005.This standard is a Part of a System Standard for plastics piping systems of a particular material for a specifiedapplication.
