Preskusi, obravnavani v tem standardu, so tipski preskusi.

Overview
SIST EN 61347-1:2015 (IEC 61347-1:2015) is the third‑edition European adoption of the international standard that sets general and safety requirements for lamp controlgear. It applies to lamp controlgear used on d.c. supplies up to 250 V and/or a.c. supplies up to 1 000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This edition is a technical revision that cancels and replaces EN 61347-1:2008 (and its amendments).
The standard establishes essential safety principles supporting Low Voltage Directive compliance and is the baseline for product design, testing and conformity assessment of controlgear such as ballasts, starters and drivers used with lamps and luminaires.
Key Topics and Requirements
The standard covers comprehensive safety and construction topics, including:
- Scope, classification and terminology for lamp controlgear
- Marking requirements: items to be marked, durability and legibility
- Terminals and earthing: protective and functional earthing provisions, earthing of built‑in and independent controlgear
- Protection against accidental contact with live parts
- Insulation, moisture resistance and electric strength tests
- Thermal endurance and fault‑condition tests (including abnormal operation)
- Construction requirements for materials, printed circuit boards and accessible parts
- Creepage distances and clearances: detailed rules for working voltages, high‑frequency operation (>30 kHz), impulse and resonance voltages, and insulation types (basic, supplementary, reinforced)
- Screws, current‑carrying parts, corrosion resistance, fire and tracking resistance
- Annexes added in this edition: new tests and guidance (Annex A, M, P, Q, R) covering live‑part determination, higher availability (impulse withstand category III), coatings/potting, Up calculation examples, and the overall creepage/clearance concept
Significant technical changes in this edition include expanded marking, revised creepage/clearance rules for high‑frequency and ignition voltages, updated ELV/FELV definitions, and scope extension.
Practical Applications - Who Uses This Standard
This standard is used by:
- Manufacturers and designers of lamp controlgear (ballasts, LED drivers, starters) to design safe products and ensure regulatory compliance
- Compliance and test laboratories for type testing, verification and certification
- Luminaires and lighting system integrators to select compatible controlgear that meets safety and compatibility requirements
- Regulatory bodies and procurement teams to reference harmonized safety requirements for market access in Europe
Adopting SIST EN 61347-1:2015 helps reduce electrical shock, fire and reliability risks and supports compliance with EU safety directives.
