This document describes a method for the ultrasonic-testing of uncoated flat austenitic and austenitic-ferritic stainless steel product for internal discontinuities.
This document is applicable to flat product in nominal thickness range of 6 mm to 200 mm.
This document also defines four quality classes for the flat product body (classes S1, SA, S2 and S3) and four quality classes (E1, E2, E3, E4) for the edges (see Clause 15).
A list of equivalent terms in several European languages is given in Annex A.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren für die Ultraschall-Impuls-Echo-Prüfung von unbeschichteten Flacherzeugnissen aus austenitischem und austenitisch-ferritischem nichtrostendem Stahl zur Ermittlung innerer Inhomogenitäten fest.
Dieses Dokument gilt für Flacherzeugnisse im Nenndickenbereich von 6 mm bis 200 mm.
Dieses Dokument definiert auch vier Qualitätsklassen für die Flächenprüfung (Klassen S1, SA, S2 und S3) sowie vier Qualitätsklassen für die Randzonenprüfung (E1, E2, E3 und E4) (siehe Abschnitt 15).
Anhang A enthält eine Liste gleichwertiger Begriffe in verschiedenen europäischen Sprachen.

Le présent document décrit une méthode de contrôle par ultrasons par réflexion des discontinuités internes des produits plats en acier inoxydable austénitique et austéno-ferritique non revêtus.
Il est applicable aux produits plats d'épaisseur nominale supérieure ou égale à 6 mm et inférieure ou égale à 200 mm.
Le présent document définit également quatre classes de qualité pour le corps du produit plat (classes S1, SA, S2 et S3) et quatre classes de qualité (E1, E2, E3, E4) pour les périphéries (voir l'Article 15).
Une liste des termes équivalents en plusieurs langues européennes es donnée à l’Annexe A.

1 Scope
