This part of IEC 60684 gives the requirements for two types of general purpose, flexible, flame retarded, heat-shrinkable polyolefin sleeving. This sleeving has been found suitable for use at temperatures up to 125 °C. - Type A - Highly flame retarded - Type B - Flame retarded The minimum supplied and maximum recovered internal diameters shall be specified by the manufacturer and shall meet the minimum wall thicknesses given in Table 2. It is normally available in bore sizes up to 75 mm as supplied and in the following colours: black, brown, white, red, yellow, green, blue, orange, violet, grey and yellow/green. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.

La CEI 60684-3-209:2010 donne les exigences pour deux types de gaines souples, thermorétractables, en polyoléfine, ignifugées d'utilisation générale. Ces gaines se sont révélées être adaptées à une utilisation à des températures jusqu'à 125 °C. - Type A - Hautement ignifugé - Type B - Ignifugé Cette édition a été alignée sur la UL 224 pour tuyaux souples thermorétractables à 125 °C en polyoléfine.

Ta del IEC 60684 podaja zahteve za dva tipa gibkih, ognjevarnih ter toplotno krčljivih poliolefinskih cevi za splošne namene. Za to cev je bilo ugotovljeno, da je primerna za uporabo pri temperaturah do 125 °C. – Tip A – Visoko ognjevarna – Tip B – Ognjevarna. Minimalne predložene in maksimalne zajete notranje premere bo določil proizvajalec; le-ti bodo ustrezali minimalni debelini stene, podani v Razpredelnici 2. Običajno je na voljo z velikostjo odprte cevi do 75 mm in v naslednjih barvah: črna, rjava, bela, rdeča, rumena, zelena, modra, oranžna, vijoličasta, siva in rumeno/zelena. Materiali, skladni s to specifikacijo, ustrezajo vzpostavljenim ravnem delovanja. Vendar mora uporabnik material za določeno uporabo izbrati na podlagi dejanskih zahtev za ustrezno delovanje pri takšni uporabi, in ne le na podlagi same specifikacije.

electrical insulating materials, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by
CENELEC as EN 60684-3-209 on 2010-07-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 60684-3-209:2003.
This EN 60684-3-209:2010 has been aligned with UL 224 for 125 °C flexible heat-shrinkable polyolefin
tubing.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
