This part of ISO 2898 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used in determining the properties of PVC-P moulding and extrusion materials. Requ irements for handling test material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the specimens before tes ting are given. Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of t he materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods which are suitable and necessary to characterize PVC-P moulding and extrusion materials are listed . The properties have been selected from the general test meth ods in ISO 10350-1. Other test methods in wide use for, or of particular significance to, these moulding and extrusion mater ials are also included in this part of ISO 2898, as are the de signatory properties specified in ISO 2898-1. In order to obta in reproducible and comparable test results, it is necessary to use the methods of preparation and conditioning, the specime n dimensions and the test procedures specified herein. Values determined will not necessarily be identical to those obtained using specimens of different dimensions or prepared using dif ferent procedures.

Dieser Teil von ISO 2898 legt die Bedingungen zur Herstellung von Probekörpern und die zur Bestimmung der Eigenschaften von weichmacherhaltigen Polyvinylchlorid-Formmassen anzuwendenden Prüfverfahren fest. Anforderungen an die Behandlung des Probematerials und für das Konditionieren des Probematerials vor der Herstellung der Probekörper und der Probekörper vor der Prüfung sind ebenfalls enthalten.
Verfahren und Bedingungen für die Herstellung der Probekörper und Vorschriften für die Bestimmung der Eigenschaften der Formmassen, aus denen Probekörper hergestellt werden, sind angegeben. Eigenschaften und Prüfverfahren, die anwendbar und notwendig sind, um weichmacherhaltigen Polyvinylchlorid-Formmassen zu charakterisieren, sind aufgelistet.
Die Liste der Eigenschaften enthält zunächst allgemein gültige Prüfverfahren, wie sie in ISO 10350-1 festgelegt sind. Andere weithin gebräuchliche Prüfverfahren oder solche von besonderer Bedeutung für diese Formmassensind ebenso in diesem Teil von ISO 2898 enthalten, sowie die in ISO 2898-1 festgelegten kennzeichnenden Eigenschaften.
Um reproduzierbare und vergleichbare Prüfergebnisse zu erhalten, müssen die hier festgelegten Bedingungen der Probekörperherstellung und -konditionierung, die Probekörper mit den hier genormten Abmessungen sowie die festgelegten Prüfverfahren angewendet werden. Die gemessenen Werte müssen nicht notwendigerweise mit denen identisch sein, die bei Anwendung von Probekörpern anderer Abmessungen oder solchen, die mit einem anderen Verfahren hergestellt wurden, erhalten werden.

L'ISO 2898-2:2008 spécifie les méthodes de préparation des éprouvettes et les méthodes d'essai à appliquer pour déterminer les propriétés des PVC-P pour moulage et extrusion. Elle indique les exigences requises lors de la manipulation du matériau pour essai, ainsi que lors du conditionnement dudit matériau avant moulage et des éprouvettes avant l'essai.
Elle précise les modes opératoires et les conditions nécessaires à la préparation des éprouvettes, ainsi que les modes opératoires de mesurage des propriétés des matériaux à partir desquels ces éprouvettes sont fabriquées. Elle fournit également une liste des propriétés et des méthodes d'essai appropriées et nécessaires à la caractérisation des PVC-P pour moulage et extrusion.
Les propriétés ont été choisies à partir des méthodes d'essai générales données dans l'ISO 10350-1. D'autres méthodes d'essai, présentant une importance particulière ou largement utilisées dans le cas de ces matériaux pour moulage et extrusion, sont également incluses dans l'ISO 2898-2:2008, de même que les propriétés de désignation figurant dans l'ISO 2898-1.

This document (EN ISO 2898-2:2008) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 “Plastics” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International
Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.

1Scope
This part of ISO 2898 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used
in determining the properties of PVC-P moulding and extrusion materials. Requirements for handling test
material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the specimens before testing are given.
Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of
the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods which are suitable
and necessary to characterize PVC-P moulding and extrusion materials are listed.
