General Information
1.1 This document specifies the safety requirements for truck mixers.
This document also covers the interface between the mixing unit and the truck or trailer (but not the truck or trailer itself).
NOTE 1 Truck or trailer constructed primarily for the carriage of goods as classified according to directive 2007/46/EC, category N3 or O4.
This document does not cover:
a) additional equipment (conveyor belt, mortar pump, concrete pump, concrete-placing boom);
b) requirements for operation in tunnels;
c) truck or self-propelled mixers equipped with self-loading systems;
d) front-discharge mixers;
e) mixing units with articulated steering;
f) truck mixer drum cleaning systems;
g) energy source(s).
This document does not deal with carrier vehicles, e.g. trucks, tractors, construction machinery and mobile industrial handling equipment or other self-propelled vehicles.
This document does not include requirements which are covered in directives related to the construction of vehicles or national road regulations.
NOTE 2 The use in public road traffic is governed by the national regulations.
1.2 This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to truck mixers when they are used as intended and under the conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Annex D). This document specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards during transportation, assembly, dismantling, disabling, scrapping, operation and maintenance of the truck mixer.
1.3 This document is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.

1.1 This European Standard specifies the safety requirements for
- conveying machines,
- spraying machines,
- placing machines, and
- delivery line systems
for concrete and mortar as defined in the definitions in 3.3 to 3.6.
The machinery can be stationary or mobile.
This European Standard does not cover:
- machines that are mobile during conveying, spraying and placing;
- cabins for any machines covered by this standard;
- additional functions beyond conveying, spraying and placing concrete and mortar, e.g. separate mixing function or crane function;
- requirements for operation in tunnels;
- support structures (i.e. tower systems) not exclusively designed for the use with concrete distribution booms.
This European Standard does not establish the additional requirements for operations subject to special rules (e.g. potentially explosive atmospheres, supply by electrical networks where voltage, frequency and tolerance differ from those of the public supply, earthquake, lightning, using on public roads, etc.).
1.2 This European Standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to conveying, spraying and placing machines when they are used as intended and under the conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). This European Standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards during transportation, assembly, dismantling, disabling, scrapping, operation and maintenance.
1.3 This European Standard is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.

1.1 This document applies to concrete compactors and smoothing machines as defined in Clause 3 and illustrated in Annex A and Annex B.
This standard also applies for hand-held motor-operated concrete vibrators as defined in EN 60745-2-12:2003, but with the additional safety requirements for electronically controlled systems as defined in this standard (see 5.2.1.2).
1.2 This document does not deal with auxiliary equipment which provides the energy for internal and external vibrators, e.g. air compressors, hydraulic power sources and voltage transformers. This document does not apply to remote-controlled or portable smoothing machines and self-acting (robotic) smoothing machines.
1.3 This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to concrete com-pactors and smoothing machines, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manu-facturer (see Clause 4). This document specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks aris-ing from the significant hazards.
This standard also includes measures to consider reasonably foreseeable misuse.
1.4 This document is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.

1.1 This document applies for machinery and plant for the preparation of concrete and mortar as defined in 3.1.
This document specifies the requirements for the design of:
a) batching and mixing installations for concrete and mortar;
b) powered mixers for concrete and mortar;
c) waste concrete reprocessing plant.
It does not include requirements relevant to truck mixers.
The machinery may be static or it may be capable of being moved to an alternative position.
1.2 This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to machinery and plant for the preparation of concrete and mortar, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). The exceptions are explosion hazards when using flammable or explosive materials that are significant but not dealt with. This document specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards. Maintenance is dealt with but not noise during maintenance.
1.3 This document is not applicable to machinery and plant which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.

This standard specifies the safety requirements for:
- conveying machines;
- spraying machines;
- placing machines for concrete and mortar or their components.
The machinery can be stationary or mobile.
This standard covers the machines described in 3.3 to 3.7.
This standard does not cover:
- machines that are mobile during conveying, spraying and placing;
- cabins for any machines covered by this standard.
This standard does not concern the undercarriage of the truck and the engine(s) of the machines that are not driven by the main engine during conveying, spraying and placing. One other possibility is the combination with a truck mixer (see 3.3).
This standard does not establish the additional requirements for operation subject to special rules (e. g. potentially explosive atmosphere, supply by electrical networks where voltage, fre¬quency and tolerance differ from those of the public supply, if relevant due to e. g. electronic components, earth¬quake, lightning, using on public roads, hazards occurring during construction, transportation, commissioning, de¬commissioning, cableless remote controls other than radio controls, compressors and pressure vessels).
1.2 This standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to conveying, spraying and placing machines when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manu-facturer (see clause 4). This standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards.
This document is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.
