EN 597-1:2015 is a CEN European Standard that specifies a laboratory test method to assess the ignitability of mattresses, mattress pads and upholstered bed bases when exposed to a smouldering cigarette. Air mattresses and water beds are explicitly excluded.     • Any occurrence of flaming initiated by the cigarette is recorded as flaming ignition.
