Protective clothing for fire-fighters - Test methods and requirements for reflective clothing for specialised fire-fighting
This European Standard considers requirements for the protection of the whole body including head, hands and feet. Clothing for head and feet according to this European Standard, however, may only provide sufficient protection when worn together with such basic PPE specified in the relevant standards as noted in paragraphs 4.2 and 4.4 of this European Standard.
This European Standard specifies test methods and minimum performance requirements for reflective protective clothing used in specialised fire-fighting.
This clothing provides protection against flame lick and intense radiant heat and is worn for short periods only, to enable the fire-fighter to enter specific high-risk fire-fighting and fire rescue situations which also require the use of breathing apparatus.
This European Standard only covers protective clothing that relies upon the ability of the outer material to reflect intense radiant heat. This type of reflective clothing may also be used for industrial applications involving high levels of radiant heat.
The reflective clothing specified in this European Standard is not covered in EN 469.
Schutzkleidung für die Feuerwehr - Prüfverfahren und Anforderungen für reflektierende Kleidung für die spezielle Brandbekämpfung
Diese Europäische Norm berücksichtigt Anforderungen für den Schutz des ganzen Körpers einschließlich Kopf, Hände und Füße. Kleidung für den Kopf und die Füße nach dieser Europäischen Norm kann jedoch nur dann ausreichenden Schutz bieten, wenn sie zusammen mit persönlicher Schutzausrüstung getragen wird, die in 4.2 und 4.4 dieser Europäischen Norm angegeben ist.
Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfverfahren und Mindestanforderungen für reflektierende Schutzkleidung fest, die für die spezielle Brandbekämpfung eingesetzt wird.
Diese Kleidung bietet Schutz gegen Kontakt mit Flammen und intensive Wärmestrahlung und wird nur für kürzere Einsatzzeiten getragen. Sie ermöglicht dem Träger spezielle Hoch-Risiko-Brandbekämpfung vorzunehmen und Brandrettungsaktionen auszuführen, die zusätzlich die Verwendung von Atemschutzgeräten erfordern.
Diese Europäische Norm erstreckt sich nur auf Schutzkleidung, die es aufgrund der Eigenschaft des Außenmaterials ermöglicht, intensive Wärmestrahlung zu reflektieren. Diese Art reflektierender Schutzkleidung darf auch für Anwendungen in der Industrie eingesetzt werden, wo Schutz gegen hohe Wärmestrahlungs-intensität erforderlich ist.
Die in dieser Norm festgelegte Schutzkleidung ist nicht durch EN 469 abgedeckt.
Vêtements de protection pour sapeurs-pompiers - Méthodes d'essai et exigences relatives aux vêtements réfléchissants pour opérations spéciales de lutte contre l'incendie
La présente Norme indique des méthodes d'essai applicables aux vêtements de protection réfléchissants utilisés dans le cadre d'opérations spéciales de lutte contre l'incendie et spécifie les exigences de performances minimales requises.
Ces vêtements assurent une protection contre les flammes fugaces et la chaleur radiante intense et sont prévus pour être portés uniquement pendant de courtes périodes afin de permettre au sapeur-pompier de pénétrer dans des zones où se déroulent des opérations spéciales à haut risque de lutte contre l'incendie ou des opérations de sauvetage nécessitant également le port d'appareils respiratoires ainsi que des protections de la tête, des mains et des pieds.
La présente Norme ne concerne que les vêtements de protection dont le matériau externe peut réfléchir une chaleur radiante intense. Après évaluation des risques, ce type de vêtement de protection réfléchissant peut également être utilisé dans le cadre d'applications industrielles présentant des niveaux élevés de chaleur radiante.
Les vêtements réfléchissants spécifiés dans la présente Norme ne relèvent pas de l'EN 469. A l'issue d'une évaluation des risques, des vêtements de protection non-réfléchissants tels que spécifiés dans l'EN 469 peuvent également être utilisés dans le cadre d'applications spéciales de lutte contre l'incendie, en association avec des protections appropriées de la tête, des mains et des pieds ainsi qu'un appareil de protection respiratoire.
En ce qui concerne la protection de la tête (visage y compris), des mains et des pieds, la présente Norme ne tient pas compte d'autres exigences que celles spécifiées en 4.2 et 4.3. Il convient que toute autre exigence spécifique de protection de ces parties du corps, requise par l'utilisateur, soit déterminée à partir d'une évaluation des risques et spécifiée.
