Protective clothing - General requirements (ISO 13688:2013)
ISO 13688:2012 specifies general performance requirements for ergonomics, innocuousness, size designation, ageing, compatibility and marking of protective clothing and the information to be supplied by the manufacturer with the protective clothing.
ISO 13688:2012 is only intended to be used in combination with other standards containing requirements for specific protective performance and not on a stand-alone basis.
Schutzkleidung - Allgemeine Anforderungen (ISO 13688:2013)
Diese Internationale Norm legt allgemeine Leistungsanforderungen an die Ergonomie, die Unschädlichkeit, die Größenbezeichnung, die Alterung, die Verträglichkeit und die Kennzeichnung von Schutzkleidung sowie an die Informationen, die der Hersteller mit der Schutzkleidung mitliefern muss, fest.
Diese Internationale Norm soll nur in Kombination mit anderen Normen angewendet werden, die Anforderungen an spezifische Schutzleistungen enthalten und nicht für sich allein.

L'ISO 13688:2013 spécifie des exigences générales de performance relatives à l'ergonomie, à l'innocuité, à la désignation des tailles, au vieillissement, à la compatibilité et au marquage des vêtements de protection ainsi qu'aux informations devant être fournies par le fabricant avec les vêtements de protection.
L'ISO 13688:2013 est destinée à être utilisée uniquement en association avec d'autres normes contenant les exigences relatives à des performances de protection spécifiques et n'est pas destinée à être appliquée seule.

Ta mednarodni standard določa splošne zahteve glede delovanja za ergonomiko, neškodljivost, oznako velikosti, staranje, združljivost in označevanje zaščitnih oblačil ter informacije, ki jih mora proizvajalec priložiti zaščitnim oblačilom. Ta standard se uporablja skupaj z drugimi standardi, ki vsebujejo zahteve za specifično delovanje. Ne uporablja se samostojno.

Foreword
This document (EN ISO 13688:2013) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 94 "Personal safety
- Protective clothing and equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 162 “Protective
clothing including hand and arm protection and lifejackets” the secretariat of which is held by DIN
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2014, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by January 2014.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 340:2003.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the
European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive.

Standard SIST EN ISO 13688 (sl), Varovalna obleka – Splošne zahteve (ISO 13688:2013), 2013, ima
status slovenskega standarda in je istoveten evropskemu standardu EN ISO 13688 (en, de, fr),
Protective clothing – General requirements (ISO 13688:2013), 2013.
Ta standard nadomešča SIST EN 340:2004.
NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Evropski standard EN ISO 13688:2013 je pripravil tehnični odbor Evropskega komiteja za
standardizacijo CEN/TC 162 Zaščitna obleka, vključno z zaščito rok in dlani, ter reševalni jopiči.
Slovenski standard SIST EN ISO 13688:2013 je prevod evropskega standarda EN ISO 13688:2013. V
primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu je odločilen izvirni evropski
standard v enem izmed treh uradnih jezikov CEN. Slovensko izdajo standarda je pripravil tehnični odbor
SIST/TC OVP Osebna varovalna oprema.
Odločitev za izdajo tega standarda je dne 14. februarja 2013 sprejel SIST/TC OVP Osebna varovalna
oprema.
