This document specifies the interface geometry between valves and pump adapters as well as flow rate performance, pressure, marking and labelling for air pumps for inflatable consumer articles (see definition in 3.1).
This document does not apply to:
- valves of personal flotation devices according to EN ISO 12402;
- diving accessories and buoyancy compensators according to EN 1809.
This document excludes the following valve types:
- valves used for bicycles and vehicles;
- needle valves (e. g. valves used for team sport balls).

Dieses Dokument legt die geometrische Form der ventilseitigen Anschlussstellen zwischen Ventilen und Pumpenadaptern fest, sowie die Anforderungen an die Festigkeit von Ventilen und Ventiladaptern für aufblasbare Verbraucherartikel (siehe Definition in 3.1).
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für:
- persönliche Auftriebsmittel entsprechend EN ISO 12402;
- Tauchzubehör und Tariermittel entsprechend EN 1809.
Dieses Dokument schließt die folgenden Ventilarten aus:
- Ventile, die für Fahrräder und Fahrzeuge verwendet werden;
- Nadelventile (z. B. Ventile, die für Teamsportbälle verwendet werden).

Le présent document spécifie la géométrie de l'interface entre valves et adaptateurs de pompe, ainsi que le débit, la pression, le marquage et l’étiquetage des pompes à air pour biens de consommation gonflables (voir définition en 3.1).
Le présent document ne s’applique pas :
   aux valves d’équipements individuels de flottabilité selon l’EN ISO 12402 ;
   aux accessoires de plongée et bouées d’équilibrage selon l’EN 1809.
Le présent document exclut les types de valves suivants :
   les valves de bicyclettes et véhicules ;

EN 16051-1:2012 is a CEN standard that defines the mechanical and performance compatibility between valves and pump adapters for inflatable consumer products. It specifies valve interface geometry, pressure classing, strength and retention requirements, marking/label needs and basic flow/compatibility considerations to ensure efficient, safe inflation of leisure inflatables (air beds, pool toys, small boats, air furniture, etc.). The standard excludes personal flotation device valves (EN ISO 12402), diving/buoyancy equipment (EN 1809), bicycle/vehicle valves and needle valves (sport balls).
