This European Standard is applicable for CLASS C classified floating leisure articles for use on or in water according to EN 15649-1 regardless of whether the buoyancy is achieved by inflation or inherent buoyant ma-terial.
This document (EN 15649-5) is applicable with EN 15649-1 and EN 15649-2.
NOTE 1 Typical products forming class C:
- tube riders with interior holding facility and closed cockpit;
- raft riders;
- board riders;
- banana riders.
NOTE 2 Typical places for application:
- distant from bathing areas and other frequented water surfaces, wide empty spaces, dedicated racetracks (par-cours);
- no to little waves;
- no strong currents.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für schwimmende Freizeitartikel für den Gebrauch auf und im Wasser der Klasse C nach EN 15649 1, unabhängig davon, ob der Auftrieb durch Aufblasen oder selbst-schwimmende Materialien erzielt wird.
Dieses Dokument (EN 15649 5) gilt im Zusammenhang mit EN 15649 1 und EN 15649 2.
ANMERKUNG 1 Typische Produkte der Klasse C:
- Reifen Gleiter mit inneren Halteeinrichtungen und geschlossenem Cockpit;
- Floß Gleiter;
- Brett Gleiter;
- bananenförmiger Gleiter.
AMERKUNG 2 Typische Orte der Verwendung:
- entfernt von Badebereichen und anderen genutzten Wasserflächen, weite leere Flächen, welche als Fahrstrecken (Parcours) vorgesehen sind;
- keine bis sehr geringe Wellenhöhe;
- keine starken Strömungen.

La présente Norme européenne est applicable aux articles de loisirs flottants de Classe C à utiliser sur ou dans l'eau conformément à l’EN 15649-1, dont la flottabilité est assurée par gonflage ou par un matériau ayant une flottabilité propre.
Ce document (EN 15649-5) s’applique avec l’EN 15649-1 et l’EN 15649-2.
NOTE 1 Produits typiques constituant la Classe C :
- tubes tractables munis d'un dispositif intérieur de retenue et d'un habitacle fermé ;
- radeaux tractables ;
- planches tractables ;
- bananes tractables.
NOTE 2 Lieux d'utilisation typiques :
- à distance des zones de baignade et autres plans d’eau fréquentés, grands espaces vides, zones réservées à la compétition (parcours) ;
- absence de vagues ou petites vagues ;
- pas de courants forts.

This European Standard is one of a series consisting of seven standards dealing with floating leisure articles for use on and in the water.
Compliance of a product to this standard requires that the requirements of the relevant specific part and,
additionally, the requirements of EN 15649-1 and EN 15649-2 have to be met. If a product includes multiple use related to several classes, it has to meet the requirements of all these classes. Annex A and Annex B are informative.
