This European Standard applies to heating and cooling systems embedded into the enclosure surfaces of the room to be heated or to be cooled. This International Standard specifies uniform requirements for the design and the construction of heating and cooling floor, ceiling and wall structures to ensure that the heating/cooling systems are suited to the particular application. The requirements specified by this International Standard concern only the components of the heating/cooling systems and the elements which are part of the heating/cooling surface and which are installed due to the heating/cooling systems. This International Standard is not applicable to the other elements which are part of the floor, ceiling and wall structures (heated or not heated).

ISO 11855-5:2012 établit les lignes directrices relatives à l'installation de systèmes de chauffage et de refroidissement par rayonnement intégrés. Elle spécifie des exigences uniformisées pour la conception et la construction des structures de chauffage et de refroidissement par le sol, le plafond et les murs, permettant de garantir que les systèmes de chauffage/refroidissement sont adaptés à l'application considérée. Les exigences spécifiées par la présente partie de l'ISO 11855 ne s'appliquent qu'aux composants des systèmes de chauffage/refroidissement et aux éléments qui font partie de la surface de chauffage/refroidissement et qui sont installés en raison de la présence des systèmes de chauffage/refroidissement.
La présente partie de l'ISO 11855 s'applique aux systèmes de chauffage et de refroidissement de surface intégrés à eau dans les bâtiments résidentiels, commerciaux et industriels. Ces méthodes s'appliquent aux systèmes intégrés dans les murs, sols ou du plafond, sans ouverture à l'air libre. Elles ne s'appliquent pas aux systèmes de panneaux avec ouverture à l'air libre qui ne sont pas intégrés dans une structure d'un bâtiment.

Ta evropski standard se uporablja za ogrevalne in hladilne sisteme, ki so vgrajeni v površine okoli sobe, ki se ogreva in ohlaja. Ta mednarodni standard določa enotne zahteve za načrtovanje in konstrukcijo ogrevalnih ter hladilnih talnih, stropnih in stenskih struktur, da bi se zagotovilo, da so ogrevalni/hladilni sistemi primerni za posamezno uporabo. The text of ISO 11855-5:2012 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 205 “Building environment
design” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO
11855-5:2015 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 228 “Heating systems and water based cooling systems in
buildings” the secretariat of which is held by DIN
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2016, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by February 2016.
This standard is applicable for design, construction and operation of radiant heating and cooling systems. The
methods defined in part 2 are intended to determine the design heating or cooling capacity used for the design
and evaluation of the performance of the system.
For identifying product characteristics by testing and proving the thermal output of heating and cooling
surfaces embedded in floors, ceilings and walls the standard series EN 1264 can be used.
