Intermodal Transport Unit 45'PW
1.1 This document provides the basic specifications and testing requirements for EN ITU of the totally enclosed general purpose types and certain specific purpose types (see Table 1) which are suitable for international and domestic exchange and for conveyance by road, rail, inland waterways and maritime transport, including interchange between these modes of transportation.
1.2 The container types covered by this part of this document are given in Table 1.

1.1 Dieses Dokument enthält die grundlegenden Festlegungen und Prüfanforderungen für EN ITU der allgemeinen geschlossenen Bauart und bestimmte Typen für spezielle Zwecke (siehe Tabelle 1), die für den internationalen und inländischen Austausch und den Straßen- und Schienentransport sowie den Binnenschiff- und Seetransport einschließlich des Wechsels zwischen verschiedenen Transportarten geeignet sind.
1.2 Die in diesem Teil dieses Dokuments behandelten Containertypen sind in Tabelle 1 angegeben.

1.1 Le présent document fournit les spécifications de base et les exigences d’essai des UTI européennes de types à usage général fermés et de certains types à usage spécifique (voir Tableau 1), qui sont adaptés aux échanges internationaux et nationaux ainsi qu’au transport par route, par rail, par voies de navigation intérieures et par mer, y compris le transfert entre ces différents modes de transport.
