La présente Norme européenne prescrit une méthode permettant de déterminer les caractéristiques de traction d’un liant bitumineux non vieilli, vieilli, récupéré ou résiduel, en particulier celles des bitumes modifiés par des polymères, au moyen d'un essai de force-ductilité.
L’énergie mécanique fournie à une éprouvette pendant l‘essai de force-ductilité est un critère permettant d’évaluer la qualité de ces matériaux.

- Precision: repeatability and reproducibility provided. Example limits: for E*0.2–0.4 < 1.0 J/cm2, r = 0.11 J/cm2 and R = 0.39 J/cm2; for values > 1.0 J/cm2, r = 8% and R = 33%.
